Mahindra TUV 300 T8 AMT is the top end variant of the newly launched compact SUV series. It boasts of a long list of segment-first features starting from the large dimensions to the advanced technologies integrated in it. Apart from the performance efficiency of its humble mHawk diesel engine, this vehicle is blessed to embark on off-roads with its anti-lock braking system and a superior suspension. Being a seven-seater, it is sure to be relied for undertaking long journeys and apart from the storage spaces in the cabin, there is a 384 litre boot storage whose capacity can be expanded up to a jaw dropping 720 litres. Driver related amenities comprise of an intelligent park assist, power steering and windows, Bluetooth connectivity with steering mounted controls, height adjustable seat with armrest and many more. Roof lamps and mobile charging points are provided for both first and second rows, an air conditioning unit with well placed vents for equalized distribution and an advanced music system that supports multiple players are a few amenities that are at command for the sake of the passenger's pleasure. Safety being the foremost aspect taken into consideration before picking any vehicle, that section too is taken care of by ABS with EBD, dual airbags, side intrusion beams as well as functions like digital engine immobilizer and an anti theft alarm system are found to be in place. Inside also, this trim holds a feast to the eye by its intricate detailing and delicate material used to design the cabin. Driver seat has an armrest and also has height adjustment facility to it. A twin-pod instrument cluster has chrome surrounds and is imbibed with multiple notifications within it. Silver accents on AC-vents and inside door handles add richness to the compartment. The steering wheel too has garnish over it enhancing the look. Engine and Performance:
A 1.5-litre mHawk80 oil-burner is equipped with 1493cc displacement. It can produce a power of 81bhp at 3750rpm and a peak torque of 230Nm at a range of 1500 to 2250rpm. Mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission gear-box, this vehicle can enjoy 18.49Kmpl of fuel efficiency. It is in compliance with BS4 emission standards.
Braking and Handling:
The front axle of this seven seater has been equipped with a double wishbone based system. While the rear end has been fitted with a rigid axle based multi link system to make it capable to handle any terrain. On the contrary, the braking section has been taken care of by a proficient pair of discs, while the rear wheels have been bestowed with a standard set of drum brakes. To further enhance its braking capabilities, this trim has also been equipped with ABS along with EBD. It has a minimum turning circle of 5.35 meters and a big enough tank to hold about 60 litres of diesel.
Comfort Features:
This is the top end trim in this model series and it is blessed with almost everything for the convenience of its occupants. There are also some innovative aspects like the voice messaging system as well as the driver information system. Then there are static bending head lamps that adds to the comfort of the driver. A Mahindra Blue Sense mobile based application helps out in giving certain commands without being inside the vehicle. Safety Features:
This is one of the most important aspect of any utility vehicle and the company has given utmost importance to it. To begin with, both the front passengers have been blessed with the added protection of airbags. A collapsible steering column along with side impact beams assure to minimize the damage drastically in case of any accident. The door gets automatically locked when the vehicle is in motion, while the seat belt reminder notification keeps reminding the driver to wear it. The digital engine immobilizer is definitely a necessity, while the anti theft warning system further adds to its benefit. There are seat belts for the first as well as the second row, while the third row people have assist grips as well.
