TUV 300 2015-2019 T6 Review

Mahindra is one of the nation's preferred brands when it comes to the field of SUVs. The company has secured a firm position in the market with models such as the Scorpio and the XUV500. The brand's latest release, the TUV300, has been met with high levels of anticipation from the public. The model series comes in seven variants, and one of the mid range variants is the Mahindra TUV 300 T6 . There are many features that underscore this trim's appeal. Starting with the interiors, there seats are adorned with a combination of fabric and vinyl, giving occupants an enriched drive environment. An infotainment system provides quality entertainment for the passengers. In aid of utility, there are headrests, storage compartments, a power steering function and internally adjustable mirrors, all of which together provide a completely strain free experience for the passengers. Coming to the exterior format, the vehicle carries the same design template as many other models of the company, such as the Scorpio. The body colored bumper and door handles blend into the overall look well, giving a harmonious poise. Turning to the heavier side, it is packed with Mahindra's signature mHawk engine. The 1.5-litre engine is composed of three cylinders, and is aided with an efficient manual transmission for the best performance quality. The car's speed power is supported by a sound braking and suspension arrangement as well, along with numerous safety functions such as ABS, auto door locks and seatbelts.

Exteriors:

The company claims to have based the machine's exterior philosophy on a battle tank, which accounts for its robust and muscular stance. At the front, the vertically sectioned grille has chrome inserts, further enhanced with the company's marque upon it. On either side of this, there are wing shaped headlamp clusters that come with intricate detailing, allowing maximized visibility of the road when driving. Chrome accented fog lamps are present at the bottom of the frontage, adding to the drive safety. A large air dam helps to dissolve engine heat, and also files as a boost to the look from the front. Coming to the side, the body colored mirrors and door handles integrate into the image well. The slanted window line and the sweeping bottom line together add to the machine's enriched picture. The square wheel arches are good looking, along with the prominent fenders. The large wheels and the attractive rims further emphasis this effect. The car maker has also graced it with black roof rails at the top to capture a more eminent look. The hefty construct of the vehicle is perfected with a more toned rear portion. Its tailgate is mounted with a spare wheel, which is further mated with vinyl cover. The wrap-around tail lights are equipped with courtesy lights and turn indicators, giving optimal safety when driving.

Interiors:

The interior design of the vehicle balances stylish looks with good utility functions. The large cabin is laid out with ergonomic discipline, ensuring comfort for the occupants. There are three rows of seats, cleverly arranged to enable apt space for all the passengers. The seats are covered in plush fabric and vinyl upholstery. The dual tone Beige Black color combination of the interior offers a holistic atmosphere for the passengers. In addition to this, the multi-functional steering wheel looks attractive, and hosts buttons for easier working. By the side of this, the dual tone dashboard also compliments the trendy look of the cabin, and it comes along with a fresh design for the button arrangement and the instrument panel. The center console is also of a stylish design, and there are numerous comfort functions incorporated into it for the benefit of the occupants. There are visible storage arenas by the front panel and sides of the doors. In addition to this, the cabin also provides a massive boot space of 348-litres at the back of the two rows, where large quantities of spare items can be kept conveniently. There are side footsteps by the front and rear, allowing easier boarding and exiting for the occupants.

Engine and Performance :

This vehicle is powered by the mHawk80 1.5-litre diesel engine that has a displacement value of 1493cc. The company has also armed the engine with a 2 stage turbocharger for enhanced performance and power output. Altogether, this motor yields a power of 84bhp at 3750rpm, together with a torque of 230Nm at 1500rpm to 2250rpm. The engine's power is transmitted through an efficient five speed manual gearbox. The engine has been designed to meet BS4 emission norms, giving a cleaner fuel yield and improved efficiency.

Braking and Handling:

Coming to the braking facet, there are strong discs at the front and drum units at the rear, giving an effective control when cornering. An anti lock braking system add to safety quality when braking. For the suspension, the front axle is armed with a double wishbone system, while the rear is equipped with a rigid axle multi link arrangement.

Comfort Features:

The car maker has given this variant an advanced Infotainment system that comes along with a display screen for apt convenience. Then, there is a 2 DIN audio system as well, and it comes with the benefit of USB and Aux-In functions, allowing occupants to integrate external devices with the system. Bluetooth facility allows occupants to host calls in the car, and to stream music. This variant is also gifted with a Mahindra BLUE SENSE mobile app, that can sync the smartphone and enables you to operate volume and audio tracks. An Eco mode is also present for improved fuel savings. Beside all of this, the car also offers power steering, an air conditioner with heater, a rear defogger, a keyless entry facility, two mobile charging points and a roof lamp for the second row, ensuring maximized convenience for its occupants.

Safety Features:

The car is blessed with side intrusion beams, which reduce damage during a collision. In addition to this, seatbelts are present for all occupants, keeping them secure through the drive. Then, there is a seatbelt reminder lamp, along with a facility for auto door locking when driving. A collapsible steering column eliminates hazards during mishaps. Finally, the safety of the vehicle is also secured with a digital immobilizer and an anti theft warning.
