Maruti Premium MPV

Latest Update: Maruti will sell its own version of the Innova Hycross, under the Maruti-Toyota global partnership.

Launch: It is expected to be launched by August 2023.

Price: Maruti could price it from Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

Seating Capacity: Just like Toyota Innova Hycross, the Maruti MPV will also likely be offered in both seven and eight-seater configurations.

Engine and Transmission: It will most likely use the same engine options as Innova Hycross: a 2-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor putting out a combined 186PS and up to 206Nm of torque. A non-hybrid version with the same engine will also be offered, producing 174PS and 205Nm. The former will be paired with an e-CVT, while the latter will be mated to a CVT gearbox.

Features: Maruti’s premium MPV is expected to offer a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment display, digital driver's display, dual-zone climate control, and ventilated front seats. It will also carry a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera and connected car technology from its Toyota counterpart.

Safety: In terms of safety, it is expected to be equipped with up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control (VSC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and front and rear parking sensors. Furthermore, ADAS functionalities including lane-keep and departure assist, adaptive cruise control, and auto-emergency braking will also be included.

Rivals: Maruti’s premium MPV will be a premium alternative to the Kia Carens and the Mahindra Marazzo, while being an affordable option to the Kia Carnival.
