JSW Jetour T2

The Jetour T2 is likely to become the debut product of JSW Motors when it steps into the automotive space in our market. Jetour is a sub-brand of the Chinese carmaker Chery Automobile. The Jetour T2 has a typical boxy silhouette and is as big as the Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV 7XO SUVs.

Internationally, it comes with two turbo-petrol engine options (of which one also gets the option of a hybrid setup) along with automatic gearbox only. JSW Motors will likely launch the Jetour T2 SUV by Diwali 2026 in India.

It features a typical boxy silhouette but gets quirky design elements to give it a modern look, but is certain to be compared with the larger and much more popular Land Rover Defender. 

The fascia flaunts square-ish housings for the dual-pod LED headlights with pixel-styled LED DRLs. There’s a bold ‘JETOUR’ branding in the grille that instantly draws your attention. Lower down, you will notice a rugged and chunky bumper housing the fog lamps and tow hooks finished in yellow, irrespective of the paint option chosen. The Jetour T2’s front bumper also houses the radar for the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and the front parking sensors.

Its big stance is clearly visible when you look at the SUV from the sides. It has large window panels, muscular wheel arches, roof rails (with neon highlights), side steps, and up to 20-inch alloy wheels. The contrasting yellow insert is also visible in the hub caps of the wheels. All pillars are blacked out to give it a floating roof-like effect.

The rear is where the similarities with the Defender seem the most obvious, thanks to a wide windshield, vertically stacked LED tail lights, and pronounced wheel haunches. Other details at the back include a tailgate-mounted spare wheel with cover, a rugged bumper and a roof-mounted light bar.

Design & Space

Jetour T2 has a wide and spacious cabin with plenty of soft-touch material all around. It has a robust yet minimalistic appeal and the highlights are the chunky multi-spoke steering wheel along with the dual digital screens. That said, there are quirky design details on the inside as well by the vertical side AC vents look like and the angular door handle on the co-driver side compared to a more conventional setup for the driver.

Despite its big size, the Jetour T2 is sold in a 5-seat configuration in the overseas markets. Its cabin does look and feel premium, thanks to multiple soft-touch materials and brushed silver finishes for the centre console, steering wheel and around the AC vents. That said, the seat upholstery is part fabric and part PVC. Jetour offers the T2 in two different cabin theme choices depending on the variant chosen: black and dark green or black and brown upholstery.

Features

In terms of amenities, the Jetour T2 is pretty well decked out thanks to the provision of a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. However, its infotainment unit supports Apple CarPlay only.

The 5-seat SUV also gets a wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable front seats with ventilation, heating, massage and memory functions, push-button start/stop, and multi-colour ambient lighting.

The Jetour T2 is equipped with multiple airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), all-wheel disc brakes, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake, and even ADAS. The SUV was recently put through the ASEAN NCAP crash tests where it scored a full 5-star rating.

Depending on the market, the Jetour T2 is offered with different engine options, including strong-hybrid setups too. The technical specifications of all the available powertrains are as follows:

*DCT - dual-clutch automatic transmission, DHT - dedicated hybrid transmission, AT - torque converter automatic transmission

^FWD - front-wheel drivetrain, 4WD - 4-wheel drivetrain

JSW Motors is expected to launch the Jetour T2 SUV in India sometime by November 2026. It could have a starting price of Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
