    White gold McLaren 650S Spider headed for Dubai

    In the typical Middle East extravagant way, McLaren is bringing a special edition 650S Spider for the 2015 Dubai Motor Show. Called the 650S Spider Al Sahara 79, the car has been built by McLaren Special Operations exclusively for Middle East. The Al Sahara 79 has pearlescent white gold paintwork inspired by golden sands of Middle Eastern landscape. The 79 number in the name signifies the atomic number of gold as the paint finish was achieved using 24 carat gold particles. The Al Sahara 79 will be displayed alongside 570S Coupe and a customised P1.

    The 650S Spider Al Sahara 79 gets a retractable hard top, gloss black lightweight forged alloy wheels, carbon fibre infused side intakes, front splitter and rear diffuser, full-length carbon fibre MSO-branded Side Blades. The interiors are a customized with black and Almond White leather upholstered electrically-adjustable sports seats with contrasting stitching, the Al Sahara 79 paint schemed steering wheel, centre console and door panels around the heating and ventilation controls, dark golden finish switchgear and heating vents.

    The mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 engine is the same seen in 650S Coupe and 650S Spider, producing 641 bhp at 7,250rpm and 678 Nm of torque. The performance of the engine remains unchanged, with zero to 100km/h sprint coming in 3.0 seconds, on to a top speed of 329km/h.

    More than 25 percent of the models customised by the MSO globally make their way in to the Middle East region. The customisation options ranges from unique colours, stitching, leathers to aerodynamic upgrades.
