    Apollo Tyres appoints Atulya Sharma as Chief Legal Counsel

    Apollo Tyres Ltd. today appointed Atulya Sharma as their Chief Legal Counsel. Based out of the tyre manufacturer’s corporate office in Gurgaon, he will oversee the company’s legal and corporate secretarial functions.

    Atulya is a member of Bar Council of Delhi and Bar Association, Supreme Court of India and will report directly to Neeraj Kanwar, Vice Chairman & MD, Apollo Tyres Ltd.

    Commenting on Atulya’s appointment, Neeraj Kanwar, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Apollo Tyres Ltd said, “In a growing organisation like ours, we would need the expertise of Atulya to help us manage the legal risks, litigations and regulatory actions related to the organisation. His extensive experience in working with different organisations and cultures worldwide, is an added advantage for Apollo Tyres. ”

    With almost 22 years of work experience, Atulya, during his last assignment with Deutsche Bank as Head of Legal, Indian Subcontinent and Mauritius, was responsible for all legal support in South Asia including global markets, capital markets transactional banking, new funds and infrastructure/ project finance related transactions. Prior to that, he has worked with IFC (World Bank Group), Dua Associates and IDFC Group.

    In past few months, there had been various management changes at Apollo Tyres. In November last year, President and Chief Financial Officer- Sunam Sarkar, was redesignated  to the new position of President and Chief Business Officer. While a month before that, Mathias Heimann, a German national, was appointed as the President of Europe & Americas and CEO of Apollo Vredestein B.V.
