Update (14/09/2023): The Tata Nexon facelift has finally been launched, with introductory prices starting at Rs 8.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
In the past week, we saw the most awaited unveiling of the facelifted subcompact SUV from Tata, and a new rebadged product launch from Toyota as well. A flex-fuel prototype was also showcased last week, and some fresh spy shots of two upcoming Mahindra SUVs also surfaced on the internet.
Tata Nexon Facelift Breaks Cover
After spotting multiple test mules of the Tata Nexon facelift, the carmaker has now given us our first proper look at the updated SUV. It has received comprehensive styling updates inside and out along with a bunch of new features as well. We have also compared the new Nexon with the outgoing version in images.
Toyota Rumion Launched
Shortly after Maruti introduced the Toyota Innova Hycross-based MPV – the Invicto – it was time for another rebadged pair of MPVs, this time in the form of the Maruti Ertiga-based Toyota Rumion. It gets slight cosmetic differences over its Maruti counterpart, but comes with the same engine and transmission options. We have also compared the prices of the Rumion with those of the Maruti Ertiga and some of its other rivals. Customers can also check out the new Toyota MPV in person at dealerships.
Hyundai i20 Facelift Teased
For the first time, Hyundai has teased the facelifted version of its premium hatchback, the i20. The i20 facelift is expected to be launched sometime in the upcoming festive season. This will be the first major update of the i20 since its market introduction in 2020.
Renault Cars Gets A Special Edition
Renault has introduced a special ‘Urban Night’ edition across all of its three models: Kwid, Triber and Kiger. This new edition is based on the top-spec variants of each model. The Urban Night edition of each Renault car will be available in limited numbers.
A New Flex-fuel Prototype From Toyota
Toyota has unveiled the flex-fuel prototype version of the BS6 phase-2 Innova Hycross strong-hybrid. Its powertrain has been modified to be compatible with the chemical differences of a high-blend of ethanol compared to regular petrol. We have also detailed the changes made to the flex fuel version of the Toyota MPV.
Kia Sonet Feature Update
If you have been waiting to buy a sunroof-equipped 1.2-litre petrol variant of the Kia Sonet, it’s now possible as the carmaker has passed it on to its top-spec trim. This move has made the sunroof-equipped Sonet more affordable, which was earlier limited to higher-specced turbo-petrol variants
Tata’s New Identity For EVs
Tata has rebranded its electric vehicle (EV) division as ‘Tata.ev’. The Indian automaker will release the new logo in a phased manner. The carmaker has used its Evo Teal colour scheme for the new Tata.ev brand.

The spy shots last week include two SUVs from Mahindra. One is the facelifted version of the XUV300, which has been seen with new design details, and the other is the 5-door Thar, which was also seen with two unique touches.
