Honda Amaze
June 6, 2013: Japanese carmaker Honda Cars India that launched its first diesel car Amaze in India in April, has now hiked its prices by upto Rs. 8,000. Honda had revised the prices of City, Brio and Accord in April only, has now in the second price hike phase also increased the prices of CR-V. The CR-V prices have now gone up by Rs. 6,000-14,000, depending upon the variant. Honda Amaze has been doing quite decent for the company, in May 2013 sales, the Amaze accounted for more than half of the company's total sales, which helped Honda achieve the no. 4 position in the Indian car market.

Renault Duster
23 March, 2013 : The 4WD version of the Renault Duster is sold in several international markets but has not yet been released in India, mainly due to the high price tag that will come attached to it. However, with the launch of Ford's EcoSport nearing, Renault has no choice but to step up and bring out its 4X4 Duster. Team-BHP recently posted spyshots of Duster undergoing testing in Kerala, with the 4WD sticker above its rear tail lights. Since Renault is already producing the 4WD Duster for import purposes, it will not be a very hard task for the automaker to develop one for the Indian sub-continent. The 4x4 version of the compact SUV is likely to retain the same 1.5-litre diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 108bhp and 148Nm of torque.

Maruti Swift
22 March, 2013 : Japanese automaker, Suzuki has long prided itself in releasing the Suzuki Swift , a car that has sold more than 30 lakh units globally, since its inception in 2004. India accounts for about 45 per cent of these sales, where the MSI Swift is one of the most popular hatchbacks in its segment. And now, to celebrate this sales milestone, MSI has launched a limited edition Swift, dubbed Maruti Swift Star. The new Swift Star has undergone the scalpel and come out with interior and exterior changes including a double-DIN stereo with Bluetooh, a rear roof spoiler, steering wheel cover, art leather seat covers and designer floor mats. The company has offered all these features for an extra Rs. 23,000, which is quite a good deal. Mechanically, the car has undergone no change.

Maruti Swift Dzire
May 2, 2013: India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki celebrated the fifth anniversary of its flagship compact sedan, Swift Dzire in style. MSI invited over 62 customers with their familes to take part in Mumbai. The Dzirable Mileage Rally celebration was held in 31 cities across the country last weekend. Mr. Gurdeep singh was given the crown for achieving the best mileage of 45.8kmpl in the diesel category, while Mr. Shrirang Chindarkar won in the petrol category by achieving 42.1kmpl mileage.

Hyundai i20
28th-Mar-2012: Hyundai India has finally slipped in the next generation Hyundai i20 priced at Rs 4.73 lakh . The i-Gen i20, available in 12 variants comes in both petrol and diesel variants. The i20 petrol variants range from Rs 4.73 lakh to Rs 6.65 lakh; the diesel variants range from Rs 5.96 lakh to Rs 7.44 lakh and the automatic variant is priced at Rs 7.67 lakh. A new refined 1.2 Kappa petrol engine with Dual VTVT mechanism is seen on-board now which delivers 84 Ps of peak power. The diesel variants now are affixed with fresh 1.4 litre CRDi diesel engine with 6-speed manual transmission. The automatic petrol variant Hyundai i20 Sportz delivers 100 Ps power and 13.9 kg-m of torque. Rear Parking Camera with display in the cabin mirror, Electro Chromic Mirror, Clean Air-Cluster ionizer, Auto Headlight Control Function, 6 Airbags, Rear Disc Brakes, Supervision Cluster and Rain Sensing Wipers are the segment first features debuted in 2012 Hyundai i20.

Chevrolet Enjoy
May 9, 2013 : General Motors India has today launched the much awaited Chevrolet Enjoy MPV. Launched both in the petrol and diesel engine options, the Enjoy MPV has been rolled out in a total 3 trim levels- LS, LT and LTZ with three diesel and three petrol variants. While the Petrol variants are priced between Rs. 5.49 lakh and Rs. 6.99 lakh , the Chevrolet Enjoy Diesel would cost between Rs. 6.69 lakh and Rs. 7.99 lakh . The company has launched the vehicle in both 7 and 8 seat versions, however only the base trim Enjoy LS will get the eight-seat model. The Enjoy MPV has been launched with several advanced features like ABS+EBD, dual front airbags, AC, driver seat height adjuster, 6-spoke, 14-inch alloys and others. However, many of the aforementioned features will be offered on the top-end variants only. The engines are 1.3-litre diesel and 1.4-litre petrol, capable of churning out 77bhp and 103bhp, which promise to return the mileage of around 13.7kmpl and 18.2kmpl respectively.

June 15, 2013: Maruti Suzuki India has today launched the CNG version of its famous MPV Ertiga called the 'Ertiga Green'. The CNG version has been made available in two variants priced at Rs 6.52 lakh and Rs 7.30 lakh. With Ertiga Green, Maruti Suzuki India now has a total 6 vehicles with factory fitted CNG kits. The Ertiga CNG also becomes the second vehicle to have all three fuel options (Petrol, Diesel, CNG), the other vehicle is SX4. The factory-fitted CNG Ertiga ensures consistently high performance and a driving experience thanks to the contemporary i-GPI (intelligent-Gas Port Injection) technology. Thei-GPI technology uses a Dual Engine Control Unit that delivers calibrated quantity of fuel to the engine, leading to more efficient fuel usage and consistent high performance.

According to a report published on CarWale, dealers are offering owners the chance to get the Start-Stop and security systems installed in their Figo. The offer is available for all Figo variants with the exception of the base model. This offer comes as a package and therefore owners cannot opt for one and not the other. The dealers are offering this scheme for Rs. 30,000.

Volkswagen Polo
May 28, 2013: German auto giant, Volkswagen that launched the hot-hatch GT TSI in India last month at a price of Rs 7.99 lakh, is now planning to launch the TDI version of the car. And CarDekho has managed to click the pictures of a batch of Polo cars with TDI badge, which further assures that the launch isn't very far. The Polo GT TDI is expected to have a 1.6-litre diesel engine that does its duty to the Vento and Rapid to make it a diesel hot-hatch. Other than the more powerful engine and the GT badge, there will be no other changes both at the exterior and interiors.

Hyundai i10
May 16, 2013: The next-generation Hyundai i10 has been creating buzz ever since the company announced its plans of launching this new global compact car, which will sit between the existing i10 and i20. The car has been spotted several times globally, as the car will be launched in several international markets including India. The car has now been put on road test on Sweden roads, and will be officially unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2013, while in India we are expecting it to launch by the year-end. May 14, 2013: The home-grown auto major Mahindra & Mahindra is now planning to roll out a low spec variant of its flagship product XUV500 , called the W4, which we believe will be the new entry-level variant, considerably cheaper than that of the existing entry level variant. Mahindra & Mahindra faced a low demand in its sales in April 2013 due to additional excise duty imposed on SUVs, so it has now become important for M&M to come up with such strategies. Hyundai Verna Fluidic
24 May, 2012 : Hyundai Verna Fluidic has spent more than a year on Indian roads and the growth curve for this modernistic sedan has been tremendous. According to Hyundai officials, Verna is the segment leader among C segment cars in India, thanks to its top notch fit and finish and futuristic design. In another attempt to push sales, Hyundai will bless the sedan with automatic gearbox option with the trim version of Hyundai Verna 1.6 Litre Diesel. By providing automatic transmission, Hyundai will remove airbag and alloy wheels from the variant, which in turn will cut down the price from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 75000. As of now , Hyundai India is offering four speed automatic transmission in Verna’s top end SX (O) variant. Also, the carmaker is offering reversing camera (usually offered on high-end cars) as standard across all the variants. The camera works only when the reverse gear is active and helps in parking mostly. This is a much better feature compared to reverse parking sensors present in rival cars.

23 March, 2013 : Indian automakers have been suffering through quite a bad year with February being recorded as the worst month in 12 years after facing a sales decline of 25.7 per cent. However, Toyota Innova is one of the few cars that actually recorded a hike of 28.6 per cent in its January, 2013 sales figures as compared to the month of December, 2012. While Maruti Ertiga seems to be a more popular model as compared to the Innova, there is no doubt that in terms of commercial sales, Innova has the upper hand.

Maruti Wagon R
April 23, 2013: India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India is now planning to launch an all new WagonR Stingray, a premium version of the car, which will be positioned above the regular WagonR models. Japanese auto major already sells Stingray variant in Japan, which was launched last year there. Since the WagonR Stingray version is an upmarket product of the car, so it will have better fitments and improved features than the regular WagonR sold in India.

25 May, 2012 : Mahindra Scorpio SUV is going under scalpel and W105 is the code name given to Mahindra’s facelift project. The refreshed version of Mahindra Scorpio is likely to arrive in the year 2014. The all new Mahindra Scorpio is likely to lose weight and the auto major has designed a special project called T026 to reduce down the weight of the car by 260 kilograms with the incorporation of fibre parts which is going to increase the efficiency level of the car and is going to make it more frugal. Mahindra is likely to add an all-new heart to new Scorpio; the 2.2L engine from the Cheetah XUV 500 that churns out 140bhp-330Nm torque is likely to go under the hood of Scorpio. To increase the legroom space in the middle row, Mahindra is eyeing to increase the wheelbase.

Maruti Alto 800
June 17, 2013: India's leading carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India has now silently launched the VXi trim for its top-selling car the Alto 800 in India for Rs. 3.13 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) . The company has also updated the information about the new trim on its official website. The new mid variant will cost around Rs 13-14,000 more than the Alto 800 Vxi. The Alto 800 VXi features all-power windows, central locking, left side rear view mirror, rear spoiler, driver side airbag and integrated music system.

23 October,2012 : Honda Cars India has launched the new tweaked 2012 Honda City variant which is compatible with the CNG bi-fuel option. The new altered Honda City CNG will go compatible with the CNG bi-fuel option in India who are looking forward to a alternative fuel option as petrol and diesel prices are both on a high. One can get the CNG kit installed with an additional payment of Rs.50,200. The new CNG variant will come in V grade and the CNG can be affixed at the 45 Honda Dealerships across India. To increase the efficiency Honda has optimized the 1.5L, 4 cylinder i-VTEC drivetrain and the suspension has been tweaked to give more stability to the car so that the CNG cylinder could be accommodated. 07 February, 2013 : Honda Car India recently launched the automatic Honda Brio a few days back and is now all set to launch the top end Brio hatchback in the VX trim. This move from Honda comes as a response to customer feedback that demanded more features in the car. Therefore the company has decided to add some extra features that include driver seat height adjustment and a rear de-fogger. Chevrolet Beat
30th-Jan-2012 : New Chevrolet Beat diesel is now accorded the title of ‘Most fuel efficient car’ by delivering 25.44 kmpl, thus surpassing the Tata Indica eV2 which was until now claimed to be the small car associated with highest mileage of 25 kmpl in the country. The body International Center for Automotive Testing (ICAT) has acknowledged Beat diesel as the most fuel efficient car in India after the auto major has endowed the car with a minor engine overhaul to see such a huge improvement in the mileage numbers from the original 24 kmpl to 25.44 kmpl. It is more or less the similar case as seen with Tata Indica eV2 which was later introduced with a similar improvement in the 1.4 L diesel engine to emerge out to be the most fuel efficient car. Earlier, Chevrolet India raised the price of Beat Diesel by Rs 50,000.

Mahindra Bolero
25 May, 2012 : Mahindra Bolero, the flagship Sports utility vehicle from homegrown manufacturer Mahindra has clocked in 1, 00,686 units in FY 2011-12 registering a 21% increase. Bolero was once again bestowed with the highest selling SUV title in India for the sixth consecutive year; also this was the highest annual sales garnered by the Bolero since it came into being. In March 2012, only the SUV managed 10,026 unit sales which is also the highest ever monthly sales till now. Mahindra Bolero sold 83,112 units of sales in 2010-11 FY. M&M’s Bolero has risen up to the seventh position in the top selling passenger vehicles in India in FY 2011-12 from the 9th position it had in the year 2010-11. Noticeably Mahindra Bolero is the only SUV to feature in the top selling passenger vehicles in India.
