    September 2, 2014: Hyundai India is overwhelmed with the success of Elite i20 and there's every reason to be, Elite i20 garnered 15,300 bookings in mere 20 days of it's launch. Speaking about the pricing, the Elite i20 is priced at Rs. 4.89 lakh for base petrol while diesel starts at Rs 6.09 lakh (all Ex-Showroom New Delhi prices). Mechanically, the car remains unchanged apart from skimping the 1.4 liter petrol; on offer now is a 1.2-liter petrol engine and 1.4-litre diesel unit. Petrol trims are mated to a five speed manual while diesel packs a sportier six-speed manual.

  • Honda Mobilio

    August 25, 2014 : Honda Mobilio adds two new trims to the existing variants of the MPV, a new top-of-the-line trim for both petrol and diesel – V(O) at a price of 9.46 lakh (petrol) and 10.45 lakh (diesel) . While the diesel-only – RS(O) costs 11.55 lakh (All prices ex-showroom New Delhi). Adding to this, now Mobilio has a total of 10 variants, namely, E,S,V and new-top-end V(O) (both for diesel and petrol) while diesel apart from this adds another two RS and RS(O). The RS variants will go on sale by mid-September. These variants adds a larges 15.7cm touch screen infotainment system with built-in voice guided navigation and it also doubles up as reverse parking camera screen. Apart from this the new trims gets faux wood inserts on the dashboard and front door armrests.

  • Tata Zest

    August 12, 2014 : Tata Motors has launched its compact sedan Zest today on August 12, 2014 at a price tag of Rs. 4.64 lakh (petrol) and Rs. 5.64 lakh (diesel). Zest being a compact sedan will lock horns with Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, Honda Amaze and recently launched Hyundai Xcent. The production of Zest has already started at Ranjangaon plant in Maharashtra with Fiat. The dealers have already started to take bookings of the compact sedan with an upfront payment of INR 21,000 for both petrol and diesel. Apart from the sporty looks from the Tata's debutante 'DESIGNEXT' design philosophy, Zest gets several first-in-class features like tailor-made 5-inch HARMAN touchscreen infotainment system, projector headlamps, day-time-running-LEDs, LED tail lamps and multi-drive modes (ECO, SPORTS, CITY).

    August 27, 2014: India bound Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift is showcased at the 2014 Moscow International Auto Saloon. The upgraded version is already available in European market and we expect that the upgraded version will be launched in India in festive months of October or November.     August 7, 2014: Audi India has finally launched the A3 sedan at a killer price of Rs 22.95 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).  The car was first showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo and will lock horns with Mercedes Benz A and B Class and BMW 1 series. It offers bi-xenon headlamps with daytime-running LEDs, S-line body kit, retro-styled air vents and 7-inch infotainment screen that pops out of the dash.     June 10, 2014: Honda has sold more that 88,000 units of Amaze in just a span of one year. The car was launched in April last year and since than it has been a huge sucess for the Japanese manufacturer. Honda Amaze is the company's first car to be launched with a diesel engine. The car carries a 1.5 litre i-DTEC engine and chruns a power of 98.6bhp while the petrol model houses 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine which develops a power of 86.8bhp. Company claims that the diesel model delivers a fuel economy of 25.8kmpl. Currently, the company has 172 facilities across 109 cities while it intends to increase them to 230 facilities across 150 cities.

    August 14, 2014: Renault India has started showcasing the Duster 4WD (AWD) to the media fraternity; the launch is slated for next month. The 4WD version will be available with the same 110PS 1.5 liter K9K DCi turbo diesel mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and features a new all-independent suspensions setup, hill-start assist, cruise control, shift-on-fly 4WD knob with Electronic-Torque-Management. Duster AWD also features new soft-touch dash and spruced-up instrumentation cluster along with touch screen infotainment system with Sat-Nav. Moreover, The Chennai-plant already manufactures the 4x4 variant and exports it to the United Kingdom as Dacia Duster. The same specifications Duster will be launched in India too.

    August 11, 2014: The competition in the compact sedan is increasing day by day and so Maruti Suzuki is now planning to bring the facelift of Swift DZire. The upgraded Swift DZire will now embrace majority of cosmetic upgrades such as increased chrome work with bold chrome slat at the front. Powering the DZire is the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre multijet diesel engines. If media reports are to be believed, the manufacturer will launch the DZire facelift around the festive season of October or November.

    August 19, 2014: Maruti Suzuki's new 793cc diesel engine is all set to hit the Indian market. The Celerio is the first hatchback to get 0.8-litre diesel engine and at the moment it is undergoing its final stage of testing in Japan. The Celerio and a new commercial vehicle from Suzuki will be available with this new diesel engine. Maruti Suzuki Celerio will come with three trims, LDi, VDi and ZDi. The VDi will come with an option of ABS too. This is Suzuki's first in-house developed diesel engine and it will be the smallest diesel engine in India. The 793cc diesel engine will churn about 50bhp of power and it will be coming with common rail diesel technology.

    July 2, 2014: Hyundai has launched the LPG variant of its Grand i10 hatch at Rs 4.96 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The LPG model is launched in the Magna trim and carries a 3 cylinder, 1.0-litre engine. The hatch develops a power in the range of 66bhp and peak torque of 92 Nm. The car will get all the bell and whistles of Magna trim such as key less entry and front fog lamps, body Hyundai Grand i10 1.0 Kappa LPG Magnacolored ORVM and door handles. The engine is mated to five speed manual transmission.

    May 6, 2014 : Hyundai India launched Eon Magna+ at Rs 3.83 lakh (Ex-showroom,New Delhi) .     July 15, 2014: Volkswagen India has finally launched the much-awaited 2014 Polo facelift in India with a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh. Following the showcasing at the Geneva Motor Show, the manufacturer has finally refreshed its premium hatch after its Indian debut about five years back. The car comes with an engine option of 1.2 MPi in petrol model and 1.5 TDI in diesel model. The automaker will launch the GT variants at the end of this month. Volkswagen Polo now sports Airbags as a standard feature while the ABS is available in all the models except the base variant.

    July 31, 2014: Mahindra & Mahindra has sold over 1,00,000 units of its XUV500, since its introduction in 2011. The 1,00,000th unit of the SUV was sold about 33 months after the sales commenced. While the 50,000 units milestone was achieved in January last year. All the variants of XUV 500, come equipped with a 2.2-litre four-pot diesel engine, capable of 140 bhp and 330 Nm of peak torque. The unit comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, sending power to the front wheels, or to all wheels in case of the AWD model.

  • Mahindra Scorpio

    August 9, 2014: Mahindra will launch the Scorpio facelift in October before Diwali; the company has been been constantly testing it. Launched almost a decade ago; the new Scorpio will be the first major overhaul of the SUV inside-out. The facelift version gets projector headlamps and LED taillamps. The interiors shows completely revamped dashboard compared to the current one. The updated Scorpio also gets new dual port instrumentation cluster with a large driver information screen providing plethora of info.     July 26, 2014: The India bound next generation Ford Figo has been launched by Ford Brazil, while the Indian launch is slated early next year.
