July 23, 2014 : The most anticipated car, Honda Mobilio has been finally launched at a starting price of Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The seven seater MPV is seemingly beautiful along with being practical and spacious. With powerful 1.5 litres of diesel and petrol motors, Mobilio is a brisker on roads besides giving best in class mileage figures of 24.2 kmpl for diesel and 17.3 kmpl for petrol variants. The automaker is looking at Mobilio to do the same magic which Amaze did in the compact sedan segment. Honda is taking advance booking of the Mobilio with an advancement payment of Rs 50,000.
May 10, 2014: Suzuki Swift gets an upgrade in UK and we can expect the similar changes in India too. Swift 2014 is expected to come with LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights). A gear-shift indicator has now been added to help aid fuel efficiency as well as Tyre Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) for added driver safety in the model unveiled in UK. Mechanically, the car will house 1.2-litre engine incorporating Dual VVT (Variable intake and exhaust Valve Timing) that produces 92bhp at 6,000rpm with a torque figure of 118Nm at 4,800rpm.
July 24, 2014 : Honda Car India is getting an overwhelming response from their new Honda City. The mid-size sedan is attracting a maximum waiting period of six month. Speaking in this context, the waiting period varies according to cities and also depends on the engine trim & variant plus colour option too. The petrol is attracting 2-4 months waiting period while the diesel being the popular one attracts 4-5 months. The CVT petrol and sunroof variant of diesel and petrol are witnessing 6 months delay.
June 10, 2014: Honda has sold more that 88,000 units of Amaze in just a span of one year. The car was launched in April last year and since than it has been a huge sucess for the Japanese manufacturer. Honda Amaze is the company's first car to be launched with a diesel engine. The car carries a 1.5 litre i-DTEC engine and chruns a power of 98.6bhp while the petrol model houses 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine which develops a power of 86.8bhp. Company claims that the diesel model delivers a fuel economy of 25.8kmpl. Currently, the company has 172 facilities across 109 cities while it intends to increase them to 230 facilities across 150 cities.
July 3, 2014: Ford India has increased the prices of its compact SUV Ford EcoSport from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000-depending upon the variant and dealership location. With the price hike of 1 per cent, the automaker is trying to mend the gap of production cost and retail cost. Ford has only increased the prices of its compact SUV EcoSport while the prices of the other car models will remain same. The base petrol 1.5-litre TiVCT AMBIENTE variant now starts with Rs 6,33,973 while for the EcoBoost Titanium and Titanium Optional its Rs 8,64,620 and Rs 9,17,665 respectively. Prices of diesel model are also hiked and now its in the bracket of Rs 7,39,456 to Rs 9,73,067 (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
July 11, 2014: As the demand of all wheel drive (4x4) compact SUVs is increasing in India, the French automaker Renault has decided to introduce the 4x4 edition of Duster in September 2014. Launched in 2012, the Duster has been the game-changing vehicle for Renault. The Duster at the moment is available with a 1.6-litre petrol engine and two tunes of the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine. All the variants at the moment are available only with a front-wheel drive (two-wheel drive). The Chennai-plant already manufactures the 4x4 variant and exports it to the United Kingdom as Dacia Duster. The same specifications Duster will be launched in India too.
May 2, 2013: India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki celebrated the fifth anniversary of its flagship compact sedan, Swift Dzire in style. MSI invited over 62 customers with their familes to take part in Mumbai. The Dzirable Mileage Rally celebration was held in 31 cities across the country last weekend. Mr. Gurdeep singh was given the crown for achieving the best mileage of 45.8kmpl in the diesel category, while Mr. Shrirang Chindarkar won in the petrol category by achieving 42.1kmpl mileage.
July 15, 2014: Volkswagen India has finally launched the much-awaited 2014 Polo facelift in India with a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh. Following the showcasing at the Geneva Motor Show, the manufacturer has finally refreshed its premium hatch after its Indian debut about five years back. The car comes with an engine option of 1.2 MPi in petrol model and 1.5 TDI in diesel model. The automaker will launch the GT variants at the end of this month. Volkswagen Polo now sports Airbags as a standard feature while the ABS is available in all the models except the base variant.
July 28, 2014: Maruti Suzuki, the leading passenger car manufacturer in India is now looking forward to increase the production of its Celerio. The hatch is reportedly attracting a waiting period of four months and by increasing its production to 6,500 units a month from the present 4,500, the automaker is clearly on way to cut short the piling waiting period. Last month, the company also launched a CNG variant with a price tag of Rs 4,68,517 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). However, the CNG factory kit is available only in VXI trim. The cherished 1.0-litre KNext engine mated five-speed manual transmission produces maximum power of 57bhp while the petrol version provides 67bhp - CNG is clearly underpowered by 10bhp! Absence of automated manual transmission in the Green model is compensated intelligently with the Gas Port Injection or i-GPI system that provides fuel economy of 31.79km/kg.
July 15, 2014 : Maruti Suzuki India launched the limited edition version of its seven seater MPV Ertiga at INR 6.76 lakh for Petrol model while the CNG and Diesel models are priced at INR 7.34 lakh and 8.05 lakh respectively. The Limited Edition features trendy Limited Edition body decals and graphics, Rear spoiler, New paint shade of Pearl Blaze blue. The interior showcases the wooden trim on instrument panel, reverse parking sensor with digital display. The engine specification of this Limited Edition is carried from the outgoing models.
July 2, 2014: Hyundai has launched the LPG variant of its Grand i10 hatch at Rs 4.96 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The LPG model is launched in the Magna trim and carries a 3 cylinder, 1.0-litre engine. The hatch develops a power in the range of 66bhp and peak torque of 92 Nm. The car will get all the bell and whistles of Magna trim such as key less entry and front fog lamps, body Hyundai Grand i10 1.0 Kappa LPG Magnacolored ORVM and door handles. The engine is mated to five speed manual transmission.
28th-Mar-2012: Hyundai India has finally slipped in the next generation Hyundai i20 priced at Rs 4.73 lakh . The i-Gen i20, available in 12 variants comes in both petrol and diesel variants. The i20 petrol variants range from Rs 4.73 lakh to Rs 6.65 lakh; the diesel variants range from Rs 5.96 lakh to Rs 7.44 lakh and the automatic variant is priced at Rs 7.67 lakh. A new refined 1.2 Kappa petrol engine with Dual VTVT mechanism is seen on-board now which delivers 84 Ps of peak power. The diesel variants now are affixed with fresh 1.4 litre CRDi diesel engine with 6-speed manual transmission. The automatic petrol variant Hyundai i20 Sportz delivers 100 Ps power and 13.9 kg-m of torque. Rear Parking Camera with display in the cabin mirror, Electro Chromic Mirror, Clean Air-Cluster ionizer, Auto Headlight Control Function, 6 Airbags, Rear Disc Brakes, Supervision Cluster and Rain Sensing Wipers are the segment first features debuted in 2012 Hyundai i20.
May 7, 2014 : Toyota Kirloskar launched the New Etios Cross with base variant Etios Cross G priced at Rs 5,76,000/- (ex showroom Delhi) . With the arrival of New Etios Cross, the model line up of Etios family extends. The vehicle is available in four variants with three powerful engine options 1.5 L & 1.2 L Petrol engine and 1.4L D-4D Diesel powertrains. The petrol model churns power in two figures viz 88 bhp and 78.9 bhp while the diesel model generates 67bhp. In terms of safety, the car comes equipped with dual front SRS airbags, ABS with EBD. It boasts rugged looks with all black plastic cladding around its exteriors.
June 5, 2014: Mahindra and Mahindra, India's leading SUV maker launched the special edition of Mahindra XUV500 christened as 'XUV500 Sportz'. The XUV500 Sportz is available at a price tag of INR 13.68 lakh (Ex-showroom Mumbai) ; only 1000 limited edition variants will be produced. The special edition SUV comes loaded with body decals; new set of alloys; rear parking camera; leather-fabric upholstery; red colored door, roof rails and fog lamp housing. The XUV500 also comes with 'Sportz' badging. Mechanically, the SUV remained unaltered, comes powered by the same 2.2 liter m-Hawk engine churning out 140bhp of max power and 330Nm of max torque. It is mated to a six speed manual transmission.
May 6, 2014 : Hyundai India launched Eon Magna+ at Rs 3.83 lakh (Ex-showroom,New Delhi) . The exterior remains same while inside the cabin, Magna+ features dual tone interiors in beige and brown colour scheme along with addition of music system with USB and AUX connectivity. Mechanically, the car in-houses latest Dual VTVT technology as it carries 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine that musters a maximum power output of 68bhp and peak torque of 94Nm at 3500 rpm. The engine is coupled to a five speed manual transmission and the hatch delivers a fuel economy of 20.3 Kmpl (ARAI Certified).

July 26, 2014: The India bound next generation Ford Figo has been launched by Ford Brazil, while the Indian launch is slated early next year. Under the Ford's 'One Ford' policy India and Brazil will get the same car along with other global markets. In India the hatch will receive a new 1.0 liter ECOnetic petrol motor displacing 85bhp while the diesel motor will likely be the 1.5 liter TDCI. However, the current Figo has been recently updated at the 2014 Auto Expo getting subtle changes in the exteriors and interiors, raising the grace and comfort level of the car. The revamped Figo gets a new mars red color and first-in-class Wi-fi hotspot feature that ensures wi-fi availability to all five passengers.
May 13, 2014: The heart throbbing car of Indian middle class, the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 is celebrating ‘2,50,000 ALTOs on the road'. The most preferable iconic Maruti 800 has gone through constructive phase in terms of design and comfort which led to the evolution of the Alto 800. July 09, 2014: Mahindra & Mahindra in order to rectify the inconsistent functioning of pressure regulating valve has recalled the ‘'Ex' variant of Scorpio SUV. The recall covers 23,519 units of the base model which were manufactured between May 2012 to November 2013. This recall is only limited to the Scorpio Ex variant manufactured during the said period and does not affect any other Scorpio variants. Moreover, this is not the first time company has recalled its rugged SUV. The same 'Ex' variant was recalled last year, produced during October and November 2013 for faulty pressure regulating valves.
October 5, 2013: Toyota India has today launched the updated Toyota Innova, which has gone through some changes both inside and out. However, among all the trims, only GX and VX trims have received changes, while the E and G Grade remain all the same in both BS III & BS IV. Also, Toyota has introduced a new top-end Z Grade, which has been priced at Rs 15.06 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Innova facelift features a bigger chrome grille with three horizontal slats, updated front bumper, new airdam with redesigned fog lamps, a sporty rear spoiler, body graphics with stylish chrome finish muffler cutter. The car has also received some interior changes like stylish wood finished gear knob, an elegant wood panel dashboard and a wooden armrest panel. February 27, 2014 : Hyundai India brings in a new CX trim to its most celebrated sedan, Hyundai Verna. With this, the company opens wide range to choose from, as the variant comes with both 1.4-litre petrol and diesel engines. The petrol variant is priced at Rs. 8.07 lakh and diesel costs Rs. 9.28 lakh. The new trim is positioned in between EX and SX variants, and gets almost every feature required to be with the mid variant. The CX variant comes equipped with all major safety features like Anti-lock braking system, rear disc brakes, airbags, rear view camera and parking sensors. It also features steering mounted audio controls, climate control and particularly diamond cut alloy wheels as standard. October 21, 2013: Toyota Kirloskar Motor has introduced the Fortuner TRD Sportivo - Limited Edition for Rs. 24,26,247/- (ex showroom Delhi).
