Suzuki, Japanese auto major and parent company of Maruti India, sells Suzuki Kizashi in the US and Japanese market and the response is overwhelming at there. The mid-size car, Maruti Kizashi, was showcased for the first time at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show than at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. August 13, 2010:- Maruti has come up with a CNG fitted Maruti SX4 variant in India to win hearts of mileage conscious car lovers. The car has been equipped with advanced CNG factory fitted kit which promises overall engine performance to be higher, especially the mileage and power. The SX4 is priced at Rs 7.47 lakh (ex-showroom). The kit comes loaded with i-GPI technology that is safe, reliable, clean, responsive and environment friendly.

January 2009 - Maruti Suzuki, the number one car maker in India is planning to launch a diesel version of its popular car Maruti SX4 with a 1.6 diesel engine. The car is expected to be launched by 2011. The diesel version of its Swift and Dzire are already very popular in India and the company hopes to see the same success with Maruti SX4 diesel. The diesel variant of the SX4 will be pitted against the likes of Ford Fiesta, Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Fiat Linea.

After being hit by bankruptcy last year, General Motors has overcome the bad time and is now sailing across the world. It recently launched a new sedan Chevrolet Sail in the Chinese market in association with Shanghai GM and the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC), both being GM-SAIC joint ventures. The concept car model, Chevrolet Sail was displayed in Shanghai Auto Show in 2005. The company has informed that the car will be exported to other emerging markets as well. The statement is seen as an indication of its launch in India as well. However, the company is in no mood to clear its stand about the launch in India.

The new concept car will be started selling in India only and will be introduced in other countries thereafter. This compact car, Toyota Etios, is targeted at masses in India. As per the company, to develop this people's car, over 2,000 engineers were engaged to give it small size without compromising eye-catching interior, power, performance and higher fuel economy. At the Auto Expo 2010, the company displayed hatchback and sedan models of Toyota Etios. The hatchback was in blue shade while sedan was dazzling in white. The company had worked hard to make Toyota Etios affordable and wished to use only domestic components for the same.

BMW plans to launch BMW X1 with comparatively lower price tag to capture more market share and to make its position stronger in luxury car market. The company, however not disclosed the exact prices of BMW X1 but it is expected that it will be priced in the range of Rs 25 to 30 lacs. The company unveiled this stylish SUV at Delhi Auto Expo and plans to launch it in the India auto market in the second quarter of 2010. It is expected that the BMW X1 will be launched with five variants and it will be available with both manual and automatic transmission option. All five variants of the car will be equipped with the diesel powered engine. It is expected that the BMW X1 will be launched in India as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit and it will be manufactured at the company’s Chennai based manufacturing plant.
