My Duster RXS CVT Xtronic, 20,000 kms review

My honest review after 2 years of ownership Pros: 1. Safety: Vehicle stability control, Traction control, ABS, EBD, BA, 2 Airbags, Hill hold assist. 2. Convenience: Xtronic CVT is smooth and jerk free, extremely easy to drive and manage in Bengaluru b-2-b traffic. Eco Mode works like a charm in city and on the highway, turn off Eco mode to cruise at 120kph - 140kph if required. 3. Fuel efficient: Even being petrol and a big SUV it has been delivering 10.5 km in City and around 12.5 km on the highways. 4. Service cost: Comes around 7k which is cheap considering an SUV. 5. Issues or niggles: None, till date. 6. Ride quality: We all know how good the Duster's ride quality is. It's simply exceptional. Cons: Music system: The company fitted headrest is of poor quality. Doesn't get navigation or Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The output is pretty weak. The speakers too are so so. An active subwoofer with inbuilt amplifier is a must if you love music! Interiors: The interior have barely changed and feel Mahindra type(utilitarian grade). Hard plastic everywhere. Just doesn't look premium like the Creta or even the lower segment Nexon and EcoSport! Cost cutting: Even if the Duster CVT is the Petrol top-end, it doesn't get an Automatic Climate control, seriously who gives a basic AC on a top end! Worth mentioning: 1. The bonnet struts are hydraulic, feels a premium touch, most cars don't have it. 2. 475 liters of Boot space can swallow every luggage. 3. On bad roads, instead of slowing down just keep the needle around 40kmpl, you'll not notice a single thing. 4. Road presence: The Duster has it, and enough of it. Cabs and auto don't do any mischief and wait for it.
