Aria Pleasure 4x2 Review
Tata Motors has launched the refreshed version of its multi-purpose vehicle, Tata Aria in the country's car market. It is being sold in three variants and among them Tata Aria Pleasure 4x2 is the mid level trim. The company has given this variant some additional features, which are 2-DIN music system, a multifunctional steering wheel with audio and call control buttons, roof storage bins, a big glove box with cooling effect, rear wiper and defogger, reverse parking sensors and dual front airbags. Apart from these, the exteriors have been refurbished with new chrome treated door handles and radiator grille and a pair of body colored roof rails, which make its look refined. The braking mechanism is enhanced by anti lock braking system along with EBD. Under the hood, this variant is powered by a slightly tweaked 2.2-litre VARICOR diesel engine, which displaces 2179cc. This new power plant can now churn out an extra 10.89bhp than its previous version. With the help of a five speed manual transmission gear box, this motor can attain a maximum speed of 162 Kmph, which is rather good for this segment. At the same time, it can cross the speed barrier of 100 Kmph from a standstill in about 14 seconds. On the other hand, the company also provides one year or 50000 Kms warranty on this vehicle for attracting the buyers.
Exteriors:
The exterior appearance is brilliantly defined this trim is fitted with a number of striking features, which makes it look more stylish. The massive radiator grille has a lot of chrome treatment on it and it is embedded with a company logo in the center. This grille is surrounded with dual barrel headlamps with projector beam. The body colored bumper is incorporated with an air dam and a set of bright fog lamps. The large windscreen is integrated with a couple of intermittent wipers. Coming to the side profile, it has chrome plated door handles and body colored external rear view mirrors. These electrically adjustable ORVMs are integrated with side turn blinker. It also has a pair of body colored roof rails, side moldings and chrome waistline on windows. The pronounced wheel arches are fitted with a sturdy set of 16 inch steel wheels that are covered with 235/70 R16 sized tubeless radial tyres. The rear end is very elegantly designed with a chrome plated boot lid, body colored bumper with fog lamps and a radiant clear lens taillight cluster. The windscreen has a defogger along with wash and wipe function. Apart from these, it also has a high mounted brake light, stylish body decals and chrome treated exhaust pipe.
Interiors:
The dual tone internal cabin of this this Tata Aria Pleasure 4x2 trim is incorporated with wide seats, which are covered with new beige fabric upholstery. Then it is bestowed with chrome accentuated inside door handles, a multifunctional steering wheel, which has audio control buttons, day and night internal rear view mirror and all four power windows with driver side auto down function. The two tone dashboard is fitted with AC vents, instrument panel and a big glove box with cooling effect. Apart from these, it also has roof storage bins with goggle cases, cup and bottle holders, map pockets in all door doors for keeping some smaller things, sun visor with passenger side vanity mirror, remote fuel lid opener, height adjustable driver seat and a 12V power outlet for charging gadgets. The advanced instrument cluster is equipped with a digital clock, low fuel warning light, a tachometer, multi-tripmeter , digital odometer, driver seat belt warning and door ajar notification.
Engine and Performance:
This variant is fitted with a powerful 2.2-litre VARICOR diesel engine, which is integrated with 4-cylinders and 16-valves . This DOHC based power plant can displace 2179cc and it is mated with a five speed manual transmission gear box. It can churn out a maximum power of 147.9bhp at 4000rpm in combination with 320Nm of torque between 1500to 3000rpm. With a common rail based direct injection fuel supply system, this diesel mill allows it to generate close to 15.05 Kmpl on the bigger roads and 12.8 Kmpl in the city traffic.
Braking and Handling:
The front axle of this Tata Aria Pleasure 4x2 trim is assembled with an independent double wishbone type of mechanism, while the rear axle is fitted with a five link suspension. This mechanism is further accompanied by coil springs. On the other hand, it is blessed with a rack and pinion based power assisted steering system, which is tilt adjustable and makes the handling comfortable. The front wheels are equipped with ventilated disc brakes with twin pot caliper and the rear ones are fitted with a set of conventional disc brakes. This braking mechanism is augmented by ABS along with electronic brake force distribution.
Comfort Features:
The car manufacturer has given this variant a number of refined features. Some of them are dual AC vents with a heater, ultrasonic reverse guide system and keyless entry with remote integrated key. Then for enhancing the ambiance of the cabin, it has an advanced 2-DIN music system, which is equipped with CD/MP3 player, radio along with six speakers. It also has USB and Aux-in interface on the center console. Additionally, this variant is bestowed with follow me headlamps, rear center armrest, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors, reading lamp, adjustable rear seat headrest and driver seat with adjustment function.
Safety Features:
This MPV is blessed with a number of protective aspects, which provide a stress free driving experience. It comes with a hydro-form chassis frame and reinforced body construction, which enhances the safety of the occupants sitting inside. It also has airbag for driver and front co-passenger, ABS along with EBD, an advanced engine immobilizer with perimetric alarm function, central locking system, seat belts for all passengers along with driver seat belt warning and rear windscreen has a defogger along with wash and wipe function.
