Terrano XV D Pre AMT Review

Nissan offers the automated manual transmission (AMT) only in the top-spec XV Premium variant of the Terrano. The six-speed AMT comes mated to a 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 110PS of power and 245Nm of torque. As compared to the XV Premium MT (manual transmission) variant, which delivers a fuel-efficiency of 19.64kmpl, the AMT variant returns 19.61kmpl. The AMT unit has three modes in its configuration - drive, reverse and neutral. Apart from that, it also features a sequential-type manual gearshift setup.

The Nissan Terrano XV Premium Auto Drive comes with a 50-litre fuel tank, 205mm of ground clearance, 5.2-metres of minimum turning radius and 16-inch machined alloy wheels. As you would expect, the top-of-the-line XV Premium variant comes loaded with features. The list includes dual airbags, ABS, EBD (electronic brake distribution) with BA (brake assist), black/brown leather upholstery, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with built-in navigation support, rear parking sensors, cruise control and roof rails finished in silver satin. The only feature which is exclusive to the Nissan Terrano XV Premium Auto Drive is the hill start assist with electronic stability programme (ESP).

The Terrano is offered in six different shades - Sandstone Brown, Bronze Gray, Sapphire Black, Blade Silver, Pearl White and Fire Red. The Sandstone Brown body paint option was added with the launch of the Nissan Terrano facelift, on March 27, 2017.

The Nissan Terrano XV Premium Auto Drive faces tough competition from various manufacturers in India. The list includes Mahindra Scorpio S10 AT, two variants of the Hyundai Creta Diesel (S+ AT and SX+ AT) and its close sibling, the Renault Duster RXZ AMT.
