A Star Zxi Review
Maruti Suzuki India has a wide and extended portfolio for the Indian car bazaar. There is a wide variety in the small car segment. The mini-hatch, Maruti A-Star is one of the strong contenders in the segment. Maruti A Star Zxi is the third variant in the range that is an affordable one for any average Indian car consumer. Under the bonnet, the car comes with 1.0 litre K-Series petrol engine, which is capable of producing decent power and torque. This engine is further mated with five-speed manual transmission that allows the car to deliver a decent mileage. The acceleration and pickup of the car is not disappointing as well. Coming to the looks, the car has simple yet elegance on the exteriors, which make it quite attractive and alluring. On the other hand, the interiors are comfortable and loaded with all the basic features. Some of the highlights comprise of power windows, power steering, air conditioning system with heater, central locking system and high quality fabric upholstery. On the safety front as well, the company has tried to provide the basic safety features in the hatchback and blessed it with strong brakes, sophisticated suspension system, central locking system, seat belts for all passengers and more. All these things help the A Star Zxi to become a good deal for an aspiring car consumer.
Exteriors
The exteriors are one of the main reasons why an aspiring consumer purchases a car. Maruti Suzuki India has kept this point in mind and blessed Maruti A Star Zxi with good looking exteriors. The front of the car has been done with elegance. The headlamps have been shaped attractively. The front grille has Suzuki logo in chrome finish. The side profile has door handles and ORVMs that has given a hit of chrome as well. The smooth silhouettes extend towards the rear profile of the car, which has chic tail lights and smartly done boot lid. The rear bumper is decent and completes the looks of the car. on the whole, it does fall short in front of cars like Hyundai i10 and Honda Brio, but it still is a decent choice for a car consumers.
Interiors
Coming to the interiors, Maruti A Star Zxi interiors are not very disappointing. But the lack of legroom for the rear occupants make the interiors fall short in front of its contenders. Apart from that the color combination inside is soothing and very calming for the passengers. The dashboard on the front has a fine finish, while the high quality seat fabrics enhance the overall interiors. The chrome finished given here and there take the interior feel in Zxi to a next level. The inner door trims are lined with fabrics, which also amplifies the overall appearance inside.

The power windows are present for the front passengers providing them utter convenience during the ride. The air conditioning system is very efficient and has heating system as well. This AC is effective and cools the car in a matter of few minutes, so you don't have to be worried while travelling in hot summers. For the front passengers, the legroom and headroom space is sufficient, while for the rear seat passengers, the legroom space is a bit less because of its compact size. But on the other hand, the boot space in Maruti A Star Zxi is enough to store many luggage bags for your long road trips.

The heart of Maruti A Star Zxi is small yet powerful. The car comes fitted with 1.0 litre of K-Series petrol engine that has a displacement of 998cc . this engine of 1.0-litre 12V K Series Petrol Engine is capable of producing high power of 67PS of peak power at the rate of 6200rpm and 90Nm of maximum torque at the rate of 3500rpm. Furthermore, it has been coupled with five-speed manual transmission that helps the car performance to rise substantially. This combination of gearbox and engine helps the car to deliver 17kmpl of mileage on the city roads and 19kmpl of fuel economy on the highways. The car is a front wheel drive, when accelerated; the car whooshes away with a top speed of 140kmph and goes from 0-100kmph in 17.5 seconds. This pickup of Maruti A-Star is decent and doesn't dishearten the owner in long drivers.
Braking and handling
The braking system of Maruti A-Star Zxi is strapping and comprise of ventilated disc brakes for the front, while drum brakes for the rear. On the other hand, the handling of the car is enhanced and augmented via power steering wheel and elegant suspension system. The suspension system in Maruti A Star Zxi include in McPherson Strut Coil Spring for the front axle, while for the rear axle, Isolated Trailing Link Coil Spring type suspension is present.
Safety features
Talking about the safety features present in Maruti A Star Zxi, they are not ample in number, but the car maker has made sure that the car is provided with the basic safety features. the braking system present here is strong enough, while the presence of seat belts for all passengers keep the occupants safe in case of accident. The car also has remote central locking system and the body frame is the ability to absorb a lot of pressure in case of collision. However, because of affordable price, the car model is lacking features like anti lock braking system, airbags, electronic brake force distribution system and brake assist.
