Latest update: Nissan has announced its new strategy for India and the Kicks will be the first product to be launched under the new plan. Under the new strategy, the Japanese carmaker aims to establish itself as a premium mainstream brand. The carmaker also plans to double its sales and service network in the next three years.
Nissan Kicks spied: The India-spec Nissan Kicks has been spied for the first time in India. Although it is expected to be bigger than the Kicks sold overseas, the test mule looks largely identical to the global model in terms of styling. More on this here.
Nissan Kicks Price and Launch: Nissan is expected to launch the Kicks compact SUV in January 2019. The prices of the Nissan Kicks are likely to start from Rs 10 lakh and go up to Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom).
Nissan Kicks Engine: The Nissan Kicks is expected to be powered by Renault’s 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine, which it will share with SUVs such as the Renault Duster, Renault Captur and the Nissan Terrano. Renault also introduced the latest version of its 1.5-litre diesel engine in early 2018 with a few upgrades. The petrol version of the Nissan Kicks could be powered by the 1.5-litre petrol found in the Renault Duster and the Captur. The Nissan Kicks is unlikely to be offered with an AWD (all-wheel-drive) option like Renault Captur.
Nissan Kicks Features: The Nissan Kicks is likely to pack multiple airbags, stability and traction control, ISOFIX child seat anchors, LED projector headlamps, upto 17-inch machined finish alloy wheels, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather upholstery, among others.
Nissan Kicks Rivals: The Nissan Kicks will go up against the likes of the Renault Captur, Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross along with upcoming SUVs such as the Kia SP concept-based SUV, second-gen Renault Duster, Volkswagen T-Cross and Skoda’s made-for-India SUV.
