Maruti Dzire

• I like that the 2025 Maruti Drize does not share its design with the Swift. This has given it much better road presence and its own identity.

• With this generational update, the Dzire now looks like a premium little sedan.

• The sleek LED daytime running lamps and Audi-like headlamps look really cool.

• At the rear, the use of chrome to connect the taillights, the Y-shaped LED signature and the smoked effect add a sense of sophistication.

• It sits on 15-inch alloy wheels which have a dual-tone finish and interesting-looking number “7” shaped design elements. The lower variants come with 14-inch steel wheels.

• Maruti Suzuki could have offered wider tyres with the Dzire, which would have looked better and offered better grip too.

• I really like the wide grille of the Dzire, which makes the nose look big and dominating.

• The tasteful use of chrome, turn indicators on the outside rear view mirrors and shark fin antenna add to the style.

• Colour options for the 2025 Maruti Dzire include: Gallant Red, Alluring Blue, Nutmeg Brown, Bluish Black, Arctic White, Magma Grey, Splendid Silver.

Design and Quality

• The Dzire’s cabin has a light beige theme with subtle wood-like inserts which does make the cabin look upmarket. But in my experience, this colour tends to get dirty very quickly and needs proper care.

• Dashboard styling is too similar to the Swift, and I wish Maruti had done more to distinguish the two.

• The material quality and fit and finish is what you expect from Maruti – above average.

• While there is a lack of soft touch materials, everything in the cabin feels sturdy and built to last.

Driving Position

• In the driver seat, I can sit comfortably and have good side support. There is no reach adjustment in the steering wheel so finding my driving position did take some time.

• Seat height adjustment is available from the one-above-base VXI variant, and will give confidence to new drivers.

• There are no issues with overall visibility as well, which makes it beginner friendly. 

Passenger Comfort

• I wish Maruti offered a front central armrest, which would’ve improved comfort on long distance journeys.

• The rear seats offer good legroom and knee room along with adequate underthigh support. 

• But you might find the headroom to be restricted if you’re taller than usual or over 5’10”.

• With limited width, seating three people in the rear seat isn’t recommended and the middle passenger will complain about the missing middle headrest on longer journeys.

• The Dzire is best used as a four seater, and the rear occupants will appreciate the adjustable headrests, central armrest and rear AC vents.

Storage Options

• There are ample storage options in the cabin like the cupholders in the centre console, 1-litre bottle holders in all door pockets, a glovebox, a slot for your phone behind the rear charging options, and open storage space beneath the AC vents. 

• Rear occupants get two cupholders in the central armrest and a pocket behind the passenger seat.

• The only thing missing is a seat back pocket behind the driver seat.

Features

• With some segment-first features, the 2025 Dzire is the most feature-loaded it has ever been.

• The 9-inch infotainment touchscreen system is simple to use and does not lag. But the user interface feels old.

• Connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is wireless and it works without a glitch.

• Segment-first single-pane sunroof lets more light inside the cabin and works using voice commands.

• The quality of the surround view camera might be average, but there’s no frame drop. A 3D mode is missing here, however.

• The 6-speaker sound system offers an acceptable audio experience and the system has preset equalizer settings. 

• Other features on the 2025 Dzire include auto AC, auto headlights, cruise control, wireless phone charger, auto outside mirrors and push button start/stop with keyless entry.

• Dzire is the only Maruti car to have a 5-star crash test safety rating from both Bharat and Global NCAP.

• Gets 6 standard airbags along with features like electronic stability program (ESP), hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, rear defogger, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a 360-degree camera.

• The Dzire’s 382-litre boot has enough space for an entire suitcase set (large, medium, and small), and one small bagpack.

• I found using smaller cabin-sized suitcases help utilise the space better.

• The boot space will be significantly, if not completely, sacrificed in the CNG model.

• This boot does have an issue. If the key is not in close proximity, you can’t unlock the boot with the request sensor, even if the car is unlocked.

• The 2025 Maruti Dzire is offered with a single 3-cylinder, 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine. It is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).

• You can opt for a petrol + CNG version as well.

• The new 3-cylinder engine brings in some vibrations. I found the older 4-cylinder engine to be much more refined and silent.

• On the upside, it delivers power smoothly and offers a relaxed driving experience.

• In the city, you can stay in second gear throughout and not change gears frequently. There is enough power for quick overtakes too.

• The clutch is light and the gear throws are smooth enough, which makes driving the manual super easy in heavy traffic.

• However, in bumper-to-bumper traffic, you have to be careful with the clutch in order to avoid stalling the car.

• The automated manual transmission (AMT) is tuned for a relaxed drive. Anything other than that, and you will feel the delays and jerks during gearshifts.

• I found shifting to the manual mode in the AMT was the best way to change gears quickly and make that quick overtake.

• Highway performance in the Dzire feels dull. During my drives I felt like I was pushing the engine too much for too little result, and occasionally had to downshift if I needed to overtake.

• The fuel efficiency, on the other hand, is a positive trait of this engine. In the city I get between 15-17kmpl, and on the highways it crosses 20kmpl easily. 

Dzire CNG

• No complaints from the performance within the city.

• With some drop in overall power, highway drives have to be even more relaxed and you will have to plan your overtakes well in advance.

• It shines in the efficiency department with an average of around 30km/kg.

• The Maruti Dzire has a really comfortable ride quality.

• Over small potholes and speed breakers, the cabin’s movement is well controlled, which results in less side to side passenger movement.

• On the highways, the Dzire remains stable and handles uneven patches and expansion joints well.

• 163mm of ground clearance is sufficient for a sedan. I never scraped the bottom on any huge speedbreaker.

• The Dzire isn’t sporty, but the responsive and quick steering makes it quite fun to drive around corners.

• The Maruti Dzire 2025 is available in four variants: LXI, VXI, ZXI, and ZXI+.

• The automated manual transmission (AMT) is available in the VXI, ZXI and ZXI+ variants.

Maruti Dzire LXI variant

• The Maruti Dzire gets LED tail lights from the base variant, along with 14-inch steel wheels, shark fin antenna, and bootlip spoiler.

• Covers all basic needs including, manual AC, power windows, central locking, adjustable headrests, 

• Standard safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, and reverse parking sensors.

Maruti Dzire VXI variant

• Sports better looks, courtesy of wheel covers, chrome inserts, and body coloured door handles and outside mirrors.

• The entertainment package starts from here with a 7-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and 4-speakers.

• Improved comfort and convenience with rear AC vents, electric outside mirrors, manual IRVM, driver seat height adjustment, rear central armrest and adjustable rear headrests.

Maruti Dzire ZXI variant

• Looks are enhanced by LED headlamps and DRLs, painted 15-inch alloys and even more chrome inserts.

• Cabin looks are also improved with chrome and wood accents.

• Adds feel-good features like cruise control, push button start/stop, auto headlamps, auto AC, 6-speaker sound system, connected car technology and reversing parking camera.

Maruti Dzire ZXI+ variant

• Gets Full LED lighting setup with projector LED headlights and LED fog lights. Dual tone 15-inch alloy wheels also uplift the looks.

• The dashboard looks more premium with the 9-inch infotainment system, while the multi-info driver’s display is now coloured.

• Notable additions include an electric sunroof, a 360-degree camera, cruise control, and auto outside mirrors.

• This is the highest CNG variant you can get with the Dzire.

CarDekho Recommends:

• If you’re on a tight budget, the one-above-base VXI trim seems like a good option. It gets all the basic adjustment and comfort options, functional features, and a few convenience features as well.

• If your budget allows, the top-spec variant offers a premium experience. But you can settle for the one-below-top ZXI variant too as it offers a good balance of premium features and looks.

Maruti Dzire’s package is a neat blend of premiumness and usefulness. It offers a good looking design that stands out and makes sure you get a good fuel efficiency and great comfort on every single drive. There is no shortage of features, and it is a brilliant option for those looking for a family car on a budget.

It would have been an even better option if its highway drives weren't dull. But still, it proves itself to be a safe option which comes with little to no compromise.
