    Mazda to enter Indian market soon

    According to reliable sources, the Japanese car maker Mazda Motor Corporation is geared up to make an entry in Indian auto market with its fleet of small size hatchback and sedan segment cars. However, it is also expected that Mazda is going to make the entrance with its famous and premium hatchback car “Mazda 2”. This invent of Mazda in India is going to get tough competition from other players in hatchback cars segment like Maruti Swift, Volkswagen Polo, Skoda Fabia, Ford Figo and Hyundai i20.

    If sources are believed, currently Mazda is analyzing the situations and options including a joint venture. Furthermore, it is also expected that company might enter India without any collaboration with local player. It is further added that car is based on Ford Fiesta platform. With Mazda 2 launched in US at a price tag of Rs. 6.4 lakh (dollar equivalent), the car is most likely to bear a price between Rs. 8 lakh and  Rs. 9 lakh in India.

    As per insider’s report, hatchbacks cars bear excellent future prospects and are gaining the popularity in the segment. Also, with the increase in salaries, easy loans, progressive economical conditions and good number of car launchings, the Indian automobile market had grown up to 30 percent in FY 2009-2011.

    According to the reports, a grand total of 14 car companies together sold 19.83 lakh cars in 2010-11, which shows an increment of 30 percent from 15.28 lakh cars sold in the FY 2009-2010. Also, with number of car launching plans in India from three Japanese car companies in last 18 months, the Indian car market is going to experience stupendous competition amongst the automobile giants.

    As earlier reported, Renault-Nissan established a $1 billion unit in Chennai, Toyota Kirloskar is going to introduce Toyota Etios, followed by low cost hatchback Toyota Etios Liva by June. Also, Honda is also planning to launch Honda Brio during the festive season. As per speculations, Mazda is intend to launch 3, 00,000 cars per year in countries having emerging market like India, Brazil, and Russia. Moreover, Mazda cars are best known for encompassng Wankel Rotary engine and the iconic two-seater roadster Miata.
