Seven cars that need an upgrade now

Here’s a list of cars that we think are in need of an immediate major upgrade or facelift to matter more or matter at all. 

Chevrolet Beat

Chevrolet Beat was a great looking car when it was launched and it still is. But the car is losing its freshness on the hot Indian roads. Though the Beat did get a facelift, it was a very minor one and it didn’t get as much an upgrade as the United States. Chevrolet has unveiled the next gen Beat a.k.a Spark outside India and it looks like it has in it to get back into the game. And Chevrolet does need something to give their sales chart an upshift.

Fiat Linea

Fiat produces some of the best looking cars. But with the Linea, Fiat has been left behind by its competitors with better looking cars and the Italian sedan needs an upgrade very soon. Though another facelift is not in the pipeline, the recently unveiled Fiat Aegea has given us some hope that will reap great results if Fiat brings it as soon as the global launch. The Aegea looks amazing and may be the car that can put Fiat on the podium.

Nissan Micra

There’s no doubt that Nissan Micra is a good all-rounder but the car round-er design may have sent the customers away to the competition. What the Micra needs is a sharper looking suit and a new personality to get into the big B-segment game. And that is what the Nissan Sway concept hopes to fulfil.

Honda Brio

Brio is the car that got Honda back into the hatchback game after the Jazz fiasco back then. But the Brio isn’t posting promising numbers on the sales chart for Honda with the absence of a diesel engine adding more to the misery. A new generation upgrade will give the Brio a better chance to take on the strong competition.

Maruti Suzuki Ritz

Ritz has become the adopted and neglected child of Maruti Suzuki, which is basking in the glory of the much better selling Swift. It did get a facelift a while ago but it was so minor no one bothered to check it out. With Maruti Suzuki turning their attention to the premium Nexa and the new products, looks like Ritz will be continued to be ignored.

Renault Duster

So far we have been seeing cars that haven’t been selling in numbers that their manufacturers expected but Renault Duster is a different story. Duster is the car that put Renault on the top of the table. It is still doing great numbers every month and Renault India hasn’t bothered to update the Duster here. The Duster has received an extensive facelift in other markets for quite a while now and we hope to get it sooner.

Mahindra Bolero

Like the Duster, the Mahindra Bolero is selling well and is actually one of the best selling SUVs in the country. It has been getting frequent facelifts to keep it fresh but Mahindra has been testing the next generation Bolero on public roads and the launch will give the Bolero a hefty boost for sure.
