Jaguar is among the world's finest manufacturers, a company that has pushed the borders of the industry to new levels. The F-Pace commands a new vision of its own with its unique engineering, majestic exteriors and the plush aura that is sure to draw passengers of all ages. The company had inscribed its own genuine touch in this vehicle, with a build template that was both exclusive and exalting. While the auto-world awaits the vehicle's release, we're ready to chart out everything available of the machine to show you where it makes it big, and where it doesn't.
1. Expensive interior design with rich themes, and we're sure this would get anyone's approval.
2. The outer cover blends athletic and masculine tones, bringing the most admirable design format possible.
1. We thought that the lack of a petrol variant could deter buyers.
2. The lack of a third row of seats might be seen as a down-side by many customers.
1. It has been incorporated with a wide array of techno-oriented aid facilities, from the Dynamic stability control, Engine drag torque control Torque vectoring system, and we're sure this would paint a better image of the vehicle.
This machine comes in four variants and two engine versions. First is a 2.0-litre diesel mill that displaces 1999cc, and the next is a 3.0-litre V6 plant that displaces 2995cc. When you take a seat in this machine, you're sure to feel a fulfilled atmosphere, with the interaction of many solid comfort features. This ranges from the audio system to the Navigation system and even the Bluetooth facility. The seats are wrapped in rich upholstery, and further improved with headrests, armrests and many convenience functions. Ride bumps and strains are also reined in to the fullest, allowing occupants to enjoy a less cumbersome environment. All in all, the masterly craft of this company conditions a smooth, pleasant drive experience from all angles.
The wide and masculine stance that the vehicle takes draws attention from all sides. We thought that it had an especially unique tone, in blending its aggressive look with a softer and sportier aura that makes it close to irresistible. When you view it at an angle, you feel the polished curvatures and the delicate design lines add upto a more pronounced look for the machine.
Apart from this, the massive machine has been tailored with an agile shape that definitely does hike up its looks. Chrome plated highlights, the ambient wheels and the refined texture of the metallic skin make for a more opulent image, and we know for one that the younger generations would swoon over such a vehicle.
Starting with the front, the face has been shaped with a dynamic allure, and we thought that there was a pulse of boldness in the look. The wide front grille hogs all the attention, at the centre of the face. The bright chrome surround adds a more enriched quality to the look, and we personally thought that this was one of the most engrossing radiator grilles in any car we've seen yet. The emblem of the company hangs right at the centre of the grille, and this animates the look for a more exclusive quality that most people would subconsciously respect.
The sharp headlamps on either side pierce into the side profile, wider on the outside for a more harmonious expression. We thought that the powerful effect of the front was rendered mainly by the striking headlamps, which invite a more intimidating allure into the vision.
The metallic skin of the front draws downwards towards the skirts almost flawlessly, crafting the wide air inlets that sit by the bottom. We thought that the side of the machine drew the most appeal, with the dynamic wheel arches and the body cladding that sweeps through the door sides. The massive wheels compliment the muscular layout of the vehicle, while at the same time, adding a more sporty stance to it.
The doors and outside mirrors share the colour of the body, and we thought this invoked a more integral image for the model. The serene lines imprinted by the door sides make for a more resplendent look, and we know for one that it's elements like these that attract the younger audiences. Meanwhile, the black window frames help to diversify the look, and we personally thought a more charged atmosphere was created by the interaction of the body colour and the frames.
Meanwhile, at the rear, we were awed at the slender headlamps that stretch from the inside of the tail-gate to the side region. A short spoiler incorporated at the top of the door gives you the impression of a macho, racing machine, while at the same time, helping to facilitate good performance for the vehicle.
The double exhaust pipes on the side of the skirts add to the vibrant build, and we thought that the blacked-out region at the bottom brought a more attractive aura. The pouncing car emblem rests by the centre of the tail-gate, giving a power-packed finish to the machine's look.
The cabin is larger than most of the vehicles we'd encountered, and we thought there was no limitation in legroom, headroom or any kind of comfort quality. A more effulgent aura is induced by the fine design and the plush treatment. The artistry that sets up the cabin seems beyond human hands, with the large seats, the door-sides, the dashboard and the centre console positioned for an image of elegance and grace.
Absorbing all the attention at the centre of the console is the 8-inch capacitive Touchscreen display that acts as a central hub for the navigation, audio and connectivity facilities. And we're sure that nothing can ever woo passengers quite like this here.
The cabin is wrapped in a striking, dual tone colour scheme that we thought took the entire atmosphere to a new level. Various personalisation options are also present for ascertaining the respective colours. Altogether, we felt a pulse of sophistication that mixed a completely futuristic design.
A glossy, chrome embellishment stretches over the front dashboard, while the steering wheel is also given chrome applications for a more alluring air altogether. The dash slides down towards the leg area in a gentle manner, and by the centre, the wide display screen is also sloped back for a wider field of view. The buttons to the system have been arranged below, and we thought the formation was quite sophisticated.
The steering wheel by the side comes with the pounding Jaguar emblem at the centre, and this does cut out a more distinctive aura for the region. The grained leather dressing for the wheel ensures a stronger hold when driving, while the paddle shifts and mounted controls make for a far more eased experience.
The instrument cluster comes with LCD dials and a cool blue illumination that does add to the renewed ambience. Meanwhile, the seats come with a refined leather coating that is sure to attract delight from the passengers.
Aside from all of this, we thought it was fun factor inside the cabin that really put a spellbinding note to it. A Navigation system with an SD Card-Based mapping feature, an InControl Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, an HD radio facility, a Meridian Sound System and many more out of the world facilities have been included in the drive mix, and we can't help but agree that few cars have ever offered more.
Packed within the car is a 2.0-litre diesel engine that displaces a strong 1999cc. It has four cylinders incorporated together, and comes merged with an 8-speed automatic transmission for flawless performance. We thought that the specs were decent, with 180bhp of power at 4000rpm, along with 431Nm at 1750rpm to 2500rpm. Also present along with this is a 3.0-litre supercharged engine that displaces 2995cc. It also gives out a power of 296bhp at 4000rpm and a torque of 700Nm 2000rpm. We've got to admit, these are some more solid figures, compared to the diesel front. The engine is also geared with an 8-speed automatic transmission, rendering shifting an easy and enjoyable job for the driver.
Ride and Handling:
There's not a doubt that this company has mastered the art of formatting suspensions. Most of Jaguar vehicles are almost flawless in their drive mannerism, and we thought this vehicle upheld its company's regard. Firm disc brakes are rigged onto all the wheels, and we thought that the braking capacity was more contained than we could have asked for. There is a minimal body roll that might irritate people, and occasionally, at tight swings, occupants are likely to be thrown around. Nevertheless, the bulky body manages to absorb most of the anomalies of the errant Indian roads, leaving just occasional twists and bumps to hinder the drive flow. The vehicle has also been programmed with some sophisticated drive programs, ensuring that stability is kept at the highest always. First, there is an Adaptive surface response technology that helps to keep the vehicle in a good groove on all road conditions. Next, a Torque vectoring system optimises stability when braking and cornering. Also present is a Dynamic stability control, Engine drag torque control and Trailer stability assist system, all of which help to cement control when driving.
In a vehicle like this, you can expect no shortage on safety facilities. Passive front head restraints keep the front occupants at ease, and they come along with a whiplash reduction system for bolstered security. The front occupants also get the added benefit seatbelts that come along with pre-tensioners. For enhanced safety with the presence of children, the car has ISOFIX child seat anchors. An advanced airbag system is present, consisting of dual front airbags and seat mounted side airbags for the firmest protection. All of the occupants can be rest assured with three-point restraints for all of the seats. A tyre pressure monitoring system keeps tyre related hazards out of the way. We were happy to see that the company enforces security for the vehicle as well, aside from the passengers. An Anti-theft engine immobiliser, security system that comes along with perimeter alarm and brake pad wear indicator together make for the finest overall safety quality possible.
There are four variants in the model series, Pure Sport, Prestige, Sport and First Edition. Pure comes with a basic list of features, including 18-inch alloy wheels, Bi-functional Xenon headlights with LED, Luxtec seats, 10-way electrically adjustable front seats and an advanced Jaguar sound system. Meanwhile, Sport rakes it up further, with a chrome side window surround, Taurus Leather seats and a rear view camera. Prestige comes along with 19-inch alloy wheels, an R-sport kit, Metal thread plates with R-sport branding, Technical mesh sport seats, and ambient interior mood lighting. The top end First Edition variant comes with a far wealthier layout, including an InControl touch pro system, a meridian sound system, a configurable interior mood lighting, a sliding panoramic roof, an S-body kit, along with Houndstooth embossed windsor leather sports seats for an excellent overall atmosphere. We thought that the base variant would suit those looking for a more modest drive experience without having to shell out too much in cash. Meanwhile, if you're the type that prefers more luxury and can bear a heavier cost, then the top end variant would do for you. For people looking for moderation in between, the mid end trims would do.
This is one-of-a-kind vehicle on many regards, and it is sure to exact its charm on a large section of the population. The muscular exteriors, the lavished interiors and the never ending range of comfort features together make it a true joy for any modern car lover. However, there are things that would put you down in equal measure, primarily the large price tag. At about 70 lakhs, it takes its place among the more expensive reaches of our market. Meanwhile, the mediocre engine performance is also poised to attract thumbs-downs from customers. Altogether, if you're a true luxury lover who'd willing to spend anything for a high quality piece, then you'd have a great time with a car like this. If not, then better look at another option.
