The facelifted version of Tata's popular SUV model, Storme has entered the Indian car market. Its top end variant Tata Safari Storme VX now includes a few new features in terms of interiors and exteriors as well. The roomy cabin is now decorated with Java Black color scheme, while the addition of silver accents further adds to its elegance. The new multi-functional steering wheel on dashboard is mounted with audio controls, whereas its seats look slightly different with contrast stitching. The main highlight is the integrated ConnectNext infotainment system by Harman, which ensures the best entertainment to its occupants. On the outside, it gets a new honeycomb front grille with lettering of vehicle's name on the bonnet and roof rails too are revised a bit. This robust vehicle carries the same 2.2-litre VARICOR diesel engine but it now delivers 148bhp power, which is 10bhp more than the outgoing model. This DOHC based motor is paired with a five speed manual transmission gear box. As far as safety is concerned, it includes ABS with EBD, engine immobilizer, child safety locks, door open warning and many other significant aspects that guarantee maximum protection.

Tata Safari Storme: Long Term Report

When Tata offered the Safari Storme for a long-term review, I was a little sceptical. The reasons were obvious – too big for a crowded city like Delhi, low fuel efficiency and some reliability doubts with the nameplate (thanks to my past experience). But after living with it for almost 800 kilometres in around a month, I’ve actually started appreciating this SUV for what it offers as an overall package.
