Wagon R 2013-2022 LXI CNG Avance Edition Review

Wagon R Avance is the limited edition launched by MSIL to mark the festive season celebrations. It is introduced only in two variants and one among them is Maruti Wagon R LXI CNG Avance Edition . It comes with some exciting new features in terms of both exteriors and interiors. Inside the cabin, it gets a 2-DIN stereo unit with Bluetooth connectivity, dual tone dashboard with new beige theme, rear power windows, premium door trim and seat fabric upholstery, new gear knob and central locking with keyless entry and security alarm. On the outside, it includes body colored electrically adjustable ORVMs, door handles, body graphics, back door spoiler, and roof rails in gunmetal grey color. Apart from these, it has comfort features like foldable assist grips, air conditioner with heater, sunvisors, front cabin lamps and many more. On the safety front, it includes a collapsible steering column, high mount stop lamp, seat belts and energy absorbing body structure. The automaker has fitted it with a 1.0-litre petrol engine that further comes with a CNG fuel kit. It is a three cylinder mill that is paired with a five speed manual transmission gear box. Also, it is incorporated with a fuel tank that takes about 35 litres of petrol in it. This hatchback is offered in three color options which are Superior White, Glistening Grey and Silky Silver.

Exteriors:

This variant has decent exteriors, but the attractive body graphics and stylish features add to its appearance. To describe its front facade, it has a bold radiator grille that is engraved with a prominent insignia of the company in its center. It is surrounded by a large headlight cluster that is equipped with blue tinted headlamps as well as turn indicators. Below this grille is a body colored bumper that is fitted with an airdam, which cools the engine in no time. Then, there is a large windscreen made of a tinted glass. It is equipped with a couple of intermittent wipers that have a 2-speed setting. On the other hand, this limited edition has a striking side profile that is highlighted by impressive body graphics. Both its door handles and outside mirrors are painted in body color, and there is body side molding. The flared up wheel arches are equipped with a set of 13 inch steel rims that have 145/80 R13 sized tubeless tyres. Meanwhile, its rear end has a sporty door spoiler, and a thick chrome strip on tail gate. This is flanked by luminous tail light cluster that is integrated with turn indicators. Also, the high mount stop lamp, roof rails in gunmetal grey color, bumper and pillar antenna completes the look of its rear end.

Interiors:

This hatchback is known to have the tallest cabin in its segment and this indicates to ample head space. It accommodates around five people with great ease. The ergonomically designed seats are integrated with adjustable headrests, and these are covered with premium fabric upholstery. The cockpit looks pretty decent with a dual tone dashboard that has the new beige theme. A three spoke steering wheel and air vents are integrated to it. The company has provided it with a new gear knob, while the instrument cluster includes unique amber speedometer with illumination, digital fuel indicator, double trip meter along with a few other notifications. There is also a 12V accessory socket using which, phones and electronic devices can be charged. The look of its interiors is further enhanced by silver inserts on instrument panel, and door handles. Aside from these, it has front cabin lamps, molded roof lining, day and night inside rear view mirror, three foldable assist grips and driver side storage space.

Engine and Performance:

It is incorporated with a 1.0-litre, all aluminum light weight petrol engine that carries three cylinders and 12 valves. It has a total displacement capacity of 998cc and integrated with a multi point fuel injection system. This petrol mill delivers a maximum power of 67.1bhp at 6200rpm and yields torque of 90Nm at 3500rpm. A five speed cable type manual transmission gear box is paired with this motor. It gives a fuel economy of around 20.5 Kmpl on the bigger roads and 15 Kmpl within the city. This can achieve a top speed of nearly 148 Kmph and accelerates from 0 to 100 Kmph in about 15.9 seconds. On the other hand, it is also offered with a CNG fuel kit that returns a mileage of 26.6 km/kg. It can churn out 58.2bhp in combination with torque of 77Nm at 3500rpm.

Braking and Handling:

The proficient suspension system comprises of a McPherson strut on front axle and an isolated trailing link on the rear one. Both these are even loaded with coil springs to make the drive smooth and jerk free. It has a reliable braking system wherein, its front wheels are equipped with ventilated disc brakes and the rear ones have drum brakes. The vehicle's handling is ensured by electronic power steering column that simplifies maneuverability in any road condition.

Comfort Features:

This limited edition trim comes with full flat front seats that are reclining and sliding as well. Whereas, the second row seat has 60:40 split folding facility. There are headrests for both front and rear seats that are adjustable. Then, there is a foldable utility hook, floor console with cup holders, map pockets, IP integrated push type cup holders, and central locking with keyless entry and security alarm. A double Din stereo is also offered that supports Bluetooth connectivity. It has sunvisors at front with ticket holder on driver's side, while the outside mirrors are electrically adjustable. Also, it is bestowed with an air conditioning unit featuring heater and rotary AC controls. Thus list even includes power windows, luggage parcel tray, remote fuel lid as well as tail gate opener for enhanced comfort.

Safety Features:

In terms of safety, it has some vital aspects that guarantees maximum protection. These include a collapsible steering column, energy absorbing body structure with side impact beams, halogen headlamps with head leveling device and three point front and rear ELR seat belts.
