Introduction
Vitara Brezza was has created a lot of hype this year, and it was launched post the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. This is the first compact utility vehicle introduced by Maruti India in a few trim levels with a diesel engine option. Let us now, delve into the details of one of its mid range trims LDi Option and find out what it has to offer us.

Overview
MSIL makes its way into the compact SUV segment with the latest Vitara Brezza. This is a sub 4-meter utility vehicle that is great in exterior design and has impressive interiors as well. Its mid range Maruti Vitara Brezza LDi Option trim comes incorporated with a 1.3-litre diesel engine, which is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox. It has a decent power of 88.5bhp along with torque of 200Nm. Safety elements in this variant are limited yet good enough to provide enhanced protection to its occupants. Some of these include Suzuki TECT body, engine immobilizer, and manual headlight leveling lamp among others. On the inside, high quality materials are used and the attractive color scheme brings a pleasant feel. The cabin also packs in a few comfort giving aspects such as the manual air conditioner, driver side foot rest, as well as the flip and foldable rear seat. Its outside is simply eye catching with features like a bold front radiator grille, stylish outside rear view mirrors on sides and an integrated spoiler in the rear. All in all, this vehicle is a treat to eyes.
Exterior:
Designed and developed by the Maruti India itself, this compact SUV looks muscular and carries the style factor as well. It has a raised stance and flowing character lines that gives it a sporty appeal. To describe its frontage, there is a large perforated radiator grille fitted to its front bumper. This vehicle includes a set of turn indicators as well. Just above this is a bold radiator grille that has the company's insignia embossed in its center. Coming to its side profile, its neatly carved wheel arches come equipped with a set of 16 inch steel wheels. These are further adorned with tubeless tyres of size 205/60 R16. Besides these, it has both the door handles and outside rear view mirrors in black color. The most interesting aspect of the rear profile is a roof end spoiler, which comes integrated with a LED high mount stop lamp. The tailgate looks stunning with a thick chrome strip and variant badging. Other attributes in its rear end includes the bumper with skid plate and bright tail lamps that adds to its appearance.
Interior:
Step inside the cabin and the first thing you will notice is an all black color scheme and highlights of chrome on a few elements on the dashboard. It also houses a multi information display with trip meter and fuel level indicator. Integrated to the center console is a music system featuring CD player, Bluetooth connectivity and auxiliary input options. A tilt adjustable steering wheel and a glove box also come integrated to the dashboard. Seats inside this five seater are well cushioned and come covered with fabric upholstery. The rear seat with flip and folding function helps in increasing the already existing boot space of 328 liters. For added convenience, it has a manual air conditioner with dust and pollen filter that creates a pleasant ambiance inside. Apart from these, the trim also includes aspects like front power windows with driver side auto down function, driver side footrest, bottle holders, front accessory socket, and four door grab handles as well.

Under the hood of Maruti Vitara Brezza LDi Option is a 1.3-litre diesel engine that comes with a total displacement capacity of 1248cc. This motor carries four cylinders, 16 valves and is incorporated with a common rail direct injection system. It is mated to a five speed manual transmission gearbox that transmits power to its front wheels. The maximum power it churns out is 88.5bhp at 4000rpm and at the same time, yields torque output of 200Nm at 1750rpm. The key highlight definitely remains its impressive mileage, which comes to nearly 24.3 Kmpl on the bigger roads and 20.8 Kmpl within the city.
Ride Handling:
This machine incorporates an efficient suspension system that ensures good ride quality. Assembled on the front axle is a McPherson strut and the rear one gets a torsion beam. Coil springs on both the axles further makes the drive smooth and comfortable. As for the braking, its front wheels are equipped with ventilated discs and drum brakes are used for the rear ones. Safety is best guaranteed in all the models of Maruti and Vitara Brezza is no exception. Being a mid range variant, the LDi Option packs in some vital security elements like anti lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution, dual front airbags, and engine immobilizer. Seat belts are available for all passengers along with prentensioners and force limiters at front. The instrument panel also keeps the driver alert by displaying notifications like driver seat belt reminder lamp and buzzer. Above all, it comes with the Suzuki TECT body structure that utilizes high tensile steel across the body panels. By absorbing impact forces, it offers enhanced protection to the passengers inside.
Verdict:
Without a second thought, you can definitely consider this variant if good fuel economy, attractive looks and better security is your priority. Compared to all its rivals, this model returns the best of mileage and engine performance that too at a decent price range.
