Swift 2014-2021 VXI Windsong Limited edition Review
Maruti Swift VXI Windsong Limited Edition is the latest trim to be launched in the market. The company is going to sell this trim for a limited period of time only. It is undoubtedly one of the best looking hatch in line out there with the kind of updates it has received. It is an attempt to take on the buyers, who want their car to look different from the regular lot. This trim can be the best for them as it is dominated by a versatile improvisation both on its exteriors as well as the insides, which is noteworthy. It is purely a comfort centered commuter. Surprisingly, a good handler as it is equipped with the ABS and EBD, and has a refined engine. Boldest of the existing performance lot in the market, it comes with tyres to chew the competition. With a 20.9 Kmpl in the city and 25.2 Kmpl on expressways, it will give you all the thrills of a mileage class. Aimed at style pickers, but not surprisingly, it endears itself to the other categories as well. With comfort features like a power steering and a flexible music player, this version is fun to ride, looks good and is a beast at its performance. It is a classy alternative to most of the vehicles that were previously offered in its category, it cuts down on non-essentials and adds a lot more features that are expected of a four wheeler in the current market. It is definitely another delicious product from the Maruti stable. Be ready for some seriously fast acceleration which couldn't get any better in its range.
Exterior:
What you see is what you get when it comes to judging the car by its exteriors. Across the body from the bonnet till the boot, it has tri-colored stripes of grey, black and bright yellow along the side profile. This would keep the stares of the onlookers fixed in amazement taking it for a sports car, which serves the purpose of the target this version actually wants. Presented only in Arctic white color, which goes well with the bumpers as well as the rear spoiler, the door handles too compliment them in the body color. To stay clean in all the seasons, it is fitted with front and rear mud flaps. The basic function of adjusting the outside rear view mirrors have been made effortless by making it automated and also electrically retractable. Furthermore, the safety quotient is improved by offering a side turn indicator. A pair of front fog lamps in bezel ornament is added and the tail lamp cluster is integrated with a rear fog lamp. Interior:
The cabin of this Maruti Swift VXI Windsong Limited Edition has been an unparalleled attempt. With trendy seat covers in black with yellow highlights that match the theme of the exteriors, is custom designed entirely. Along with the seat highlights in bright yellow, the steering wheel and the gear console go with it. The designer mats that are PVC based in black adds to the style leaving no part of the vehicle overlooked. The illuminated door sill guards have ambient lighting kit that splashes blue light all over the inside hits a party effect. With a sporty wrap around door trims and the silver accents on it give a classy finish to the panels. A day and night internal rear view mirror comes as a standard feature. Then there is a sun visor for both driver and co-passenger, while the the passenger side visor comes with a vanity mirror as an add on comfort. The three spoke sporty steering wheel with silver accents is the first thing that catches the attention in the cockpit. Other features include a high volume glove box to store quite a few things in it. Then there is a parcel shelf, a ticket holder in the driver side sunvisor, a cabin lamp and three folding assist grips. The internal door handles are given a chrome plating strengthening its diverse look. On the instrument panel, we find a tachometer, a driver seat belt reminder and the head light off reminder given as a buzzer, so that it can't be overlooked. As a safety feature, a door closure warning lamp along with a low fuel warning lamp forms a part of the multi information display. Info for both fuel consumption that is instantaneous as well as average is available and a trip odometer with a digital clock makes it an advanced display.
Engine and Performance:
This petrol engine is equipped with 4-cylinders and 16-valves that help in displacing 1197cc. It can produce a maximum power of 83.11bhp at 6000rpm and generates a torque output of 115Nm at 4000rpm. It comes with a multi-point fuel injection supply system as a standard feature. It is teamed with a five speed manual transmission gear box. Additionally, it has naturally aspirated air-charging system. This version comes with a fuel tank capacity of 42 litres.
Braking and Handling:
The braking mechanism has been enhanced by equipping this variant with anti lock braking system teamed with the electric brake force distribution. The front wheels are fitted with ventilated discs where as the rear end wheels has drum brakes. Further more the front axle has been equipped with McPherson strut and the rear axle has torsion beam.
Comfort Features:
The Maruti Swift VXI Windsong Limited Edition is a complete comfort centric vehicle with a lot of features upgraded to it. The features like the power windows along with the driver side auto down function is the best part. Other functions include are an accessory socket to charge gadgets on the move, cup holders that are retractable, rear seat that has back folding, and a back pocket to the front seats. Integrating passenger luxury furthermore, it has a keyless entry, a fuel lid opener and a manual air conditioner unit. To the already packed display system, the lane change indicator is an addition. As boasted by this limited edition trim, the infotainment section features entertaining equipment such as Sony audio unit with touchscreen capacity that supports Bluetooth connectivity, which is an attractive feature for the picky buyers, who are specifically looking for the music section. This list goes on to describe the other impressive addition to the features that compliment the entertainment section like providing two pairs of Sony speakers which deliver the best sound quality. Along with equipping this trim with the customized 'Swift Vibe EQ Mode', the music system flexibility is widened by supporting DVD, CD, VCD and a USB port. The rear sporty antenna on the roof making the radio FM reception better on the move is an additional topping.
Safety Features:
This trim has many highlighted features and one amongst them is the reverse parking mechanism,where there is a reverse parking sensor assisted with the camera display that makes the job flawless and safe. The safety quotient is further augmented with the ABS and EBD along with the brake assist. The seats are equipped with 3 point seat belts with ELR for four seats and a middle lap belt for the rear bench seat as well and therefore not compromising on the passenger safety. As a standard feature, there is a security system provided. It has rear door child locks also. As an added safety for all the passengers, there are front and rear seat headrests. In order to alert the vehicles approaching from behind, there is a high mounted stop lamp. Furthermore, the intrusion beams helps to keep the impact from any collision at bay. To avoid all theft related worries, there is an iCAT security system embedded to this variant.
