Creta 2015-2020 1.6 SX Option Executive Diesel Review
Hyundai Creta 1.6 CRDi SX Option is the top end variant in its diesel lineup. This variant is powered by a 1582cc diesel engine that is incorporated with a common rail based direct injection fuel supply system. It has the ability of churning out a peak power of 126.3bhp in combination with a peak torque output of 259.8Nm. Its suspension system is quite proficient that assists in keeping the vehicle stable. At the same time, the company has given it a reliable braking system, which is further enhanced by ABS along with EBD. It also has electronic stability control. This SUV is designed with a large wheelbase and decent ground clearance that makes it a perfect off-roader. The company has given it a robust and attractive body design that is fitted with many features that gives it a striking overall appearance. It is fitted with a bold radiator grille with a lot of chrome treatment, neatly carved headlight cluster, body colored bumper, a couple of fog lamps and so on. At the same time, it has a plush internal cabin that looks quite elegant in a dual tone color scheme. It is incorporated with an advanced audio unit with various input options, all four power windows, an efficient air conditioner and many other such aspects. In terms of safety, it has a long list of aspects and some of them includes 3-point ELR seat belt with warning notification in the instrument panel, engine immobilizer for enhanced protection of the vehicle, electronic stability program, dual front and side curtain airbags and a crash sensor as well. This newly launched SUV is going to compete against the likes of Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Mahindra XUV 500 and others in this segment.
Exteriors:
This latest version is designed with an aerodynamic body structure, which looks quite inviting and fitted with a lot of striking features. Starting with the front profile, it has an aggressive radiator grille, which has a few chrome plated slats and embedded with a chrome treated prominent logo in the center. This grille is flanked by a sleek headlight cluster that features high intensity bi-functional projector headlamps along with side turn indicator. Just below this, it has a body colored bumper that houses a wide air intake section for cooling the powerful engine quickly. This air dam is flanked by a pair of bright fog lamps with cornering light. The large windscreen is made of green tinted glass and accompanied by a pair of intermittent wipers. Coming to its side profile, it is very elegantly designed with a few strong character lines and body colored door handles and ORVMs. Its electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors are integrated with side turn indicator. The flared up wheel arches are fitted with a modish set of 17-inch alloy wheels that are covered with tubeless radial tyres of size 215/60 R17. The rear end has a large tail gate that is further embossed with variant badging and a thick chrome strip. The radiant tail light cluster is in stylish design and integrated with halogen based reverse and brake lights along with indicators. It also has a sporty rear spoiler that is fitted with a high mounted stop lamp. Its rear windshield has a defogger along with wash and wipe function.
Interiors:
The inside door handles and crash pad have chrome finishing. In terms of seating, it is incorporated with well cushioned seats that are covered with fabric upholstery. The driver's seat can be adjusted electrically and has proper lumbar support, while the rear seat has foldable function, which helps in increasing the boot volume of car. It also has adjustable head restraints that add to the comfort level. The leather wrapped steering wheel, center console and door arm rests gives the cabin an elegant appearance. Its dashboard is neatly designed and equipped with a large glove box with illumination, an advanced instrument cluster, AC vents and a center console. Not only this, the cabin is incorporated with a number of utility based aspects, which are cup and bottle holders, sun visors with vanity mirrors, remote fuel lid opener, a large boot compartment along with parcel tray, map pockets in all doors and so on.
Engine and Performance :
It is equipped with a 1.6-litre diesel engine that can churn out 1582cc. It is integrated with four cylinders and sixteen valves using a double overhead camshaft based valve configuration. This motor has the capacity of delivering 126.3bhp at 4000rpm in combination with 259.8Nm in the range of 1900 to 2750rpm. With the help of a common rail based direct injection fuel supply system, this vehicle can return a decent fuel economy. At the same time, it is mated with a 6-speed manual gear box that enables it to attain a top speed in the range of 180 to 185 Kmph. While it can accelerate from zero to 100 Kmph in close to 11-13 seconds.
Braking and Handling:
This utility vehicle has a dual diagonal, split circuit braking system. Its front wheels are fitted with disc brakes, while rear ones have drum brakes. At the same time, the front axle is assembled with a McPherson strut and rear axle gets coupled with a torsion beam. Both these axles are further assisted by coil springs for added comfort. It also has a responsive steering wheel with tilt adjustment for smoother maneuverability.
Comfort Features:
For giving an enjoyable driving experience, this trim is bestowed with an advanced stereo unit with audio video navigation system and 1GB internal memory. It supports CD/ MP3 player, USB interface, Aux-in port along with six speakers and Bluetooth connectivity for pairing the mobile phone. Its illuminated instrument cluster houses a lot of functions and comes with light adjustment facility as well. The list includes a low fuel warning light, driver seat belt reminder notification, an electronic tripmeter, tachometer, digital clock, external temperature display and digital odometer. Its one of the most important feature is an efficient dual zone air conditioning system, which has fully automatic temperature control function and rear AC vents. It is also equipped with cluster ionizer for purifying the cabin air. Apart from these, it also has all four power windows with driver side auto down function, parking sensors, rear defogger and so on.
Safety Features:
It has a rigid body structure with side impact beams and crumple zones. It has 3-point seat belts with front seat getting height adjustable feature, while the instrument cluster has a driver seat belt reminder notification. The engine immobilizer prevents from any unauthorized entry.
