The Hyundai Creta 1.4 CRDi S is the diesel engine based mid range trim in its lineup. It comes with an outstanding design and fitted with a silver garnished radiator grille silver painted skid plate, roof rails, side body cladding and many other such aspects. On the other hand, the designers have done a fabulous job for giving the internal cabin a voguish look. It is incorporated with almost all such features, which gives the occupants a pleasurable driving experience. It has a driver oriented cockpit, where all these features are ergonomically designed and easy to reach. The seats inside are well cushioned and covered with premium upholstery. In terms of safety, this variant is packed with a lot of advanced features including ABS along with EBD, day and night inside rear view mirror, central locking system, seat belts for all occupants and many other such aspects. It is being sold with an unmatched warranty of three years without any limitation of mileage, which is a big plus point. It is going to give competition to the likes of Renault Duster, Mahindra Scorpio, Nissan Terrano, Ford Ecosport and others in this segment.   

Exteriors:

To start with the front fascia, this SUV looks quite aggressive with a radiator grille that has a few silver plated slats. The body colored bumper is fitted with a wide air air dam. This bumper is accompanied by a silver finished protective cladding for preventing the vehicle from minor damages. Furthermore, it has a large windscreen made up of laminated glass and is accompanied by a couple of intermittent wipers. Coming to its side profile, it is designed with body colored door handles along with outside rear view mirrors. There is also a pair of roof rails available that gives it a sporty appearance. The neatly crafted wheel arches are fitted with a robust set of 16-inch steel wheels. These rims are further covered with high performance tubeless radial tyres of size 205/65 R16. The rear end has a curvy boot lid that further embossed with the variant badging. The company has given it a well crafted tail light cluster, which features halogen based reverse and brake lights along with turn indicator. It also has a sporty rear spoiler that is fitted with a high mounted stop lamp, which not only adds to its appearance, but also enhances the safety quotient. 

Interiors:

Its roomy cabin is incorporated with a lot of sophisticated and utility based aspects. In terms of seating, it is bestowed with ergonomically designed seats that are covered with premium fabric upholstery. These are integrated with head restraints as well. The rear seat can be folded to bring in more luggage inside. It has a lot of other features like cup and bottle holders, sun visors with vanity mirrors, sun glass holder, an inside rear view mirror, remote fuel lid opener, front seat back pockets and many other such aspects. It has a smooth black dashboard that is equipped with a few aspects like an advanced instrument panel with lots of functions, a three spoke steering wheel, AC vents and a large glove box, where we can keep a few things at hand. It has a tilt adjustable power steering system, which is quite responsive and makes handling convenient even in heavy traffic conditions. Apart from these, it also has a 12V power outlet in front console for charging accessories like mobiles and other electronic devices. 

Engine and Performance:

In terms of technical specifications, this variant is fitted with a 1.4-litre diesel engine under the bonnet, which comes with a displacement capacity of 1396cc. It carries four cylinders and sixteen valves using double overhead camshaft based valve configuration. This diesel motor can produce a maximum power output of 88.8bhp at 4000rpm along with a peak torque output of 219.6Nm in the range of 1500 to 2750rpm. With the help of a common rail based direct injection fuel supply system, it can return 18.3 Kmpl and about 21.38 Kmpl within the city and on highways respectively. This power plant is cleverly mated with a 6-speed manual transmission gear box, which sends the engine power to its front wheels. It enables the SUV to cross the speed mark of 100 Kmph in close to 12.2 seconds from a standstill and attain a maximum speed of 162 Kmph approximately.

Braking and Handling:

Like any other car model from Hyundai’s fleet, this vehicle also gets a reliable braking mechanism along with a proficient suspension. Its front wheels are equipped with a set of disc brakes, whereas the rear wheels get a conventional set of drum brakes. This mechanism is further augmented by anti lock braking system along with electronic brake force distribution. On the other hand, its front axle is assembled with a McPherson strut with coil springs, while rear one gets a coupled torsion beam, which also has similar coil springs. The cabin is incorporated with a power steering, which is quite responsive and supports a minimum turning radius of 5.2 meters.  

Comfort Features:

This variant is fitted with a lot of comfort features, which makes this vehicle quite luxurious and gives the occupants a comfortable driving experience. It has an efficient air conditioning unit, which also has a heater and rear AC vents for cooling the entire cabin. It is also bestowed with an advanced stereo unit, which features CD/ MP3 player, USB interface, Aux-in port along with six speakers and Bluetooth connectivity for pairing the mobile phones. It also has a touchscreen display, which provides various information for convenience. It is being offered with direct controls of audio and calls, which are mounted on a multi-functional steering wheel. The advanced instrument cluster houses a low fuel warning light, driver seat belt reminder notification, an electronic tripmeter, tachometer, digital clock and so on.

Safety Features:

For a stress free driving experience, the car manufacturer has incorporated this variant a lot of protective aspects. The presence of an advanced engine immobilizer prevents the vehicle from unaccredited entry. It has 3-point seat belts for all passengers, it also has driver seat belt reminder notification on instrument panel. This vehicle is equipped with ABS and EBD that adds to its safety quotient. It also has a full size spare wheel affixed in the boot compartment with required tools for changing the tyre. In addition to these, it also has some standard features like a centrally located high mounted stop lamp, rear defogger, central locking system, day and night inside rear view mirror, lane change indicator and several others.
