GO NXT Review
Datsun GO NXT is the limited edition trim that is launched in country's car market ahead of the festive season. It is offered with a few additional features like chrome exhaust finisher, remote security lock and rear parking sensors. Also, it includes piano black interior finish on the dashboard and rear parcel tray as well. Apart from these, it comes with standard interior features like three spoke steering wheel, interior room lamp, bottle holders, tripmeter, accessory socket and a few others. On the outside, it has neatly carved wheel arches fitted with a set of steel wheels, while the front radiator grille is perforated and has a thick chrome surround. Meanwhile, its rear end is designed with bright tail lamps and a body colored bumper, which makes it look quite captivating. The firm has also loaded it with some important aspects that ensures passenger safety. Some of these include child locks, front and rear seat belts as well as high mount stop lamp. On the other hand, it is incorporated with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that can produce a maximum power of 67.06bhp in combination with torque output of 104Nm. This motor is paired with a five speed manual transmission gear box. Besides these, it has a proficient suspension as well as braking systems that ensures smooth and safe driving experience.
Exteriors:
Apart from the body side molding and chrome finished exhaust pipes, everything else remains the same in terms of exteriors. At front, it has a bold, perforated radiator grille that comes with a thick chrome surround. The popular company's insignia is also neatly embossed at the center of this grille. Surrounding this is a large headlight cluster that is equipped with halogen headlamps and turn indicators. The bumper looks quite stylish and comes fitted with an airdam as well as a couple of air ducts. Moreover, its frontage also includes a wide windscreen that is further integrated with a pair of speed sensitive intermittent wipers that have drop wipe function. Moving to its side profile, it has black colored B and C pillars, whereas the door handles and outside rear view mirrors are painted in body color. Meanwhile, its wheel arches are fitted with a set of 13 inch steel wheels that has full wheel covers. These rims are further covered with radial tubeless tyres of size 155/70 R13 that gives enhanced grip on roads. Its rear end too is designed attractively with aspects like an expressive boot lid that has company's badge embedded on it, while the windshield comes fitted with a high mount stop lamp. Other aspects like clear lens tail lamps and body colored bumper makes its rear profile quite stylish.
Interiors:
What differentiates it from the remaining variants is the piano black finish on its well designed dashboard, meter console and around the gear shifter. Moreover, it also comes with rear parcel shelf that further adds to their convenience. Besides these additional aspects, its dashboard also houses a three spoke steering wheel, silver garnished AC vents, glove box and a center console. It has well cushioned seats that are covered with premium Jacquard fabric upholstery. The front seats are sliding and reclining, whereas the rear one has folding function. The door trims are full molded and includes bottle holders at front. Also, there are a few useful aspects offered like door map pockets, passenger side storage tray, ticket holder, room lamp and rear assist grips as well.
Engine and Performance:
This hatch is offered with a 1.2-litre petrol power plant that has a total displacement capacity of 1198cc. It carries 3-cylinders that are fitted with 12 valves. This mill is based on a double overhead camshaft valve configuration and is integrated with an electronic gasoline injection system. The maximum power generated by this motor is 67.06bhp at 5000rpm and it delivers a torque output of 104Nm at 4000rpm. As per the ARAI certification, it can return a peak fuel economy of around 20.63 Kmpl on the bigger roads and nearly 17 Kmpl within the city. This power train is coupled with a 5-speed cable type manual transmission gear box with hydraulic clutch operation system. It enables the vehicle to attain a top speed of around 150 to 160 Kmph and to accelerate from 0 to 100 Kmph in approximately 15 to 16 seconds.
Braking and Handling:
The car maker has fitted its front wheels with ventilated disc brakes and equipped the rear ones with drum brakes. It is bestowed with a proficient suspension system that helps in maintaining its stability at all times. A McPherson strut with double pivot lower arm is assembled on its front axle, whereas the rear one is affixed with H-type torsion beam. On the other hand, it has a speed sensitive electric power assisted steering system that is highly responsive. This supports the minimum turning radius of 4.6 meters and ensures smooth handling.
Comfort Features:
A few interesting aspects are available in this limited edition trim that makes the journey quite comfortable for its passengers. It comes with a drive computer that gives notifications of distance to empty, average and instantaneous fuel economy. An efficient air conditioning unit is installed with a filter and heater as well. This comes along with close-able AC vents that spreads cool air in the entire cabin. The mobile docking station is another aspect, which includes amplifier, universal mobile holder, USB port and Aux-in options. Also, it has speakers positioned at front, which gives better sound output. This trim also has a 12V accessory socket, front power windows, trip meter, remote tail gate and fuel lid opener, follow me home headlamps, gear shift guide, digital tachometer, and front seats with spinal support that further adds to the comfort quotient.
Safety Features:
In terms of safety, it is loaded with some significant aspects like rear parking sensors, remote security lock, headlamp leveling device and child locks. There are three point seat belts offered along with a 2-point seat belt for rear center seat. In addition to this, it also comes with an engine immobilizer that protects the vehicle by preventing any unauthorized access into it.
