GT-R highlights

June 02, 2017: Nissan launched the GT-R in India in December 2016 at a price tag of Rs 1.99 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The GT-R launched in India is the updated version and not the one that was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, which (its Egoist edition) was also a part of Sachin Tendulkar's garage until recently. The GT-R can sprint from standstill to 100kmph in around 3 seconds with a top speed of 315.4 kmph. The GT-R is powered by a 3.8-litre twin turbo V6 engine that churns a power output of 570PS at 6,400rpm and 632Nm of torque in-between 3,200 to 5,800rpm. The aesthetic updates on the 2017 version include a set of new bumpers at either end, the family 'V-Motion' grille, and a set of new wheels along with a redesigned cabin.

0 to thrill under 3 seconds While you may find the GT-Rs look more aggressive, the styling is pure function. Larger grille openings enhance cooling to key components, without increasing aerodynamic drag. The Nissan GT-R is powered by the VR38DETT V6 engine, a 3,799 cc (3.8 L; 231.8 cu in) DOHC V6 with plasma transferred wire arc sprayed cylinder bores.[18] Two parallel Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries (IHI) turbochargers provide forced induction.[19] Models manufactured between 2007 and 20... 7

Look and Style The looks of the GTR are somewhat different when compared to those of other cars. You might think of it as a botch-job full of squiggles, curves and lines. But the truth lies in the fact that every crease from the front channels air to the rear spoiler(even the crease on the door mirror!). But I think it looks rather brilliant. Not like a Ferrari or a Lambo, but beautiful in it's own unique way. It has presence. Comfort The suspension of the GTR is said to be tuned by Lotus, w... 25

Nissan GT-R review

The Nissan GT-R is a legend in the world of performance cars and is popularly known as the “Supercar Killer” or even “Godzilla”. The GT-R brands spans over half a century and the words 'GT-R' first appeared on the Nissan Skyline in 1969. The car is a symbol of Nissan’s engineering prowess and its engine is built by hand, exclusively in the Japanese automaker’s plant located in Yokohama, Japan. In fact, only five engineers in the world called 'Takumi' are allowed to assemble the motor. Here’s a quick look at the highlights of this iconic machine.

Things We Like in GT-R

  • A supercar that can seat 4, albeit snugly.
  • Value-for-money. Offers performance that can match the abilities of cars that cost twice as much.
  • Jaw-dropping performance. 570PS, V6 engine propels the car from 0-100kmph in 3 seconds!
  • Impeccably engineered. One of the best handling cars money can buy.

Things We Don't Like in GT-R

  • Owners may find it too silent.
  • Premium, high-octane fuel required like most supercars. Limits usability in countries like India.
  • Interior is functional. No wow factor for a car this expensive.

Stand Out Features

  • Hand-built engine that gives you blistering performance.

  • ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive technology that offers great grip and improves performance off the line.

CarDekho Verdict

The GT-R is an example of automotive engineering at its best. It’s a legend that lives up to its name and offers extreme performance for the money.

"At its price of Rs 1.99 crore ex-showroom Delhi, it offers good value even at an exorbitant price."

So if you want one and have the money for it, you don’t need our word to get one!
