December 2, 2013: Mercedes-Benz India has finally launched the SLK 55 AMG roadster in the country for Rs. 1.26 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). Under the hood, the roadster gets the 5.5-litre V8 engine that develops 421bhp and 540Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission, which transmits power to the rear wheels of the car. This model accelerates to 100kmph from standstill in mere 4.6 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. It sports AMG Sports suspension featuring torque vectoring brake and the AMG Direct-steer system. It comes equipped with AMG body styling with exclusive 55 AMG front and rear aprons and side skirts, AMG high-performance internally ventilated and perforated disc brakes, AMG sports suspension, COMAND online with 6 DVD changer with HARMON KARDON surround sound, ECO Stop-start function and others.
