Maruti has entered the fast growing compact SUV segment for the first time and it looks as if it was worth the wait.This segment was ruled by the likes of Fords and Renault and later it was shaken by the Hyundai Creta.Having said that Maruti could not have been kept far behind and they developed a car worthy of a mention. The Vitara Brezza ticks almost all the boxes for a customer but no car is perfect in this world. Thus Vitara Brezza has its flaws too. Standing at less than 4mtr in length Maruti has done a great job with its cabin space.It can fit 3 normal adults at the rear comfortably compared to the cramped cabin of Ford EcoSport.The design may not look futuristic compared to the competitors like the Creta but it's surely not plain jane either.The front grille and tall stance do make it look aggressive but not to the limit which will put off many potential buyers.The design is a fine balance between ruggedness and finesse.The dual tone colours make it look more stylish and fancy and the dual tone colour combination is well thought and should go down well with the buyers.Coming to the interiors it has all the latest gizmos and features which one should expect from a premium car.The quality of plastic is good for a change in a Maruti car and it should keep all the critics on a level playing field.The touch screen infotainment system is well thought out and is easy to handle.The steering mounted controls look nice and have a good feel to them ergonomically.The driver side seat is height adjustable and it gives a really good view of the outside traffic.The legroom is nice for a tall person and it shouldn't be a problem to seat three normal adults at the rear.Coming to the power ,this is where Brezza lacks the extra punch which its rivals offer.Looking at the overall size of the car,the power seems to be on a lower side and feels underpowered at highway speeds.The Renault Duster feels more mature and refined engine at high speeds compared to Brezza. For city though it should feel like a charm to drive and its steering feels responsive and has nice handling. The car feels stable though at high speeds even if you wish to have more power on the highways.The safety features include all the required gizmos like Airbags as well as ABS and EBD. Overall the car should offend none and its an easy choice for any buyer considering the looks and features it provides at this price.
