Datsun GO Plus You Cant Ask More At This Price
India is a land of diversity and the same is reflected in every aspect including the automotive field. The Indian car market with its incredible potential has catered to every category of buyer. Right from budget cars to full-fledged luxury sedans, all have served their respective class of customers. Datsun brand launched by Nissan is one such move catering to the budget conscious car buyers of the country. The carmaker launched three vehicles in a time span of 4 years. Though they are not as successful as other established brand, the vehicles are steadily making their position strong. Datsun GO Plus is one such car introduced to give the budget conscious buyers one more option to carry their large families. The bare-bones budget hatchback is targeted towards people who are looking for an MPV at a price of Rs. 4-5 lakh. The price says it all. Yes the incredible price is the unique selling point of this MPV. It looks inoffensive and neutral in terms of styling along with the practicality of a station wagon. The car offers compliant ride quality in the cities with small turning radius and light driving controls. Though not a proper 7 seater, the car can accommodate 5 adults with ease along with 2 small children. Having said that, the cost-cutting is evident across the vehicle. The car also raises safety concerns as you get only seatbelts and optional driver side airbag. One can realize with the fact that the car got 0 safety ratings in NCAP crash test. In case, some mishap occurs on the way, blame it on yourself. From the exterior perspective, it appears that the boot has been banged at the back side in order to add the last row, some sort of jugaad I think. And the main problem with these cars is that if you buy such a car and sell after 2-3 years, you would not find buyers as the pre-owned market for these cars is simply non-existent. But again, at this price point, you can’t ask much. For people with a tight budget, this can really be a big deal. But as the saying goes ‘A wise man makes his own decisions,’ stretching the budget a little and going for Maruti Ertiga would be a better idea. Even if one chooses the base variant of Maruti Ertiga which is, of course, Rs. 1 lakh expensive than the top variant of Datsun GO Plus, he still has several advantages in terms of design, features, and safety. So, better choose wisely.
