It Settles Down To A Quite Sophisticated Idle
The starting motor makes a loud noise when you turn it, similar to the sound of an engine that is already going. Once it gets going, though, it settles down to a quite sophisticated idle. The return spring action is a touch sluggish, so it takes some getting accustomed to when you release the clutch. Additionally, the C3 stalls or requires continual power when travelling at crawling rates. But once you're rolling, everything goes rather well. Even this normally aspirated 1.2-liter engine seems surprisingly snappy at regular and commuter speeds. The engine feels polished.
