Bolt Sport Review
Tata Bolt Sports is an upcoming variant from the home-grown automaker, Tata Motors. According to sources, this sporty version may come fitted with a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine. This is the same mill, which is currently seen in the Bolt and Zest models. But now, it is being said that it has been tuned for delivering more power and torque, which are 120bhp and 170Nm respectively. It is anticipated to have the same five speed manual transmission gear box. This hatch may also be offered with multi-drive options like Eco, City and Sport. Its pictures clearly reveal that it has a sporty design language, and some revised features like a new radiator grille and projector headlamps at front along with a body kit including both the bumpers. Moreover, the sleek air vents on its fenders further add to its appeal. On the sides, it seems to be equipped with a new set of alloy wheels and side skirts. Meanwhile, styling aspects like a roof spoiler and metal strip on license plate can be seen in its rear end along with dual exhaust pipes. On the other hand, its interiors too seem to have undergone a few modifications. Its seats are probably draped with black leather upholstery with red stitching on it. The advanced Harman touchscreen audio unit is likely to be offered with voice recognition system, whereas a sunroof is also expected. Besides these, its suspension system is also said to be upgraded for smooth drive and better handling. In terms of safety, it may include vital aspects like dual front airbags, anti lock braking system, and cornering stability control as well.
Exteriors:
Its pictures on several websites clearly show the modifications made to its front fascia. Looks like the radiator grille is restyled, whereas its fenders can be seen with sleek air vents. The headlight cluster maybe equipped with projector headlamps, whereas the wide windscreen might have a pair of wipers fitted to it. Moving to its side profile, its B-pillars can be seen in black color, window sill is plated with chrome and wheel arches can be noticed with a new set of alloy wheels, probably of 17 inches. These rims seem to be in a sporty diamond cut style, and further covered with tubeless radial tyres, whose size is not known yet. Also, it might come with body colored door handles as well as outside rear view mirrors of which, the latter can be expected to have side turn indicators. Meanwhile, its sporty looking rear end seems to have a roof spoiler equipped with a high mount stop lamp. The windscreen may come fitted with a wiper, whereas the boot lid can be seen with a brush metal strip. Other than these, new body colored bumper as well as dual exhaust pipes are also noticeable in its rear profile.
Interiors:
It is not just exteriors, but the car's interiors too, seem very interesting. The cabin appears to be pretty spacious owing to its generous dimensions. Mostly, it might have a black color scheme along with chrome plating on a few aspects. One of the pictures reveal its cockpit, which looks just fabulous with a well designed dashboard featuring some equipments. An advanced infotainment system can be clearly seen that is probably by Harman. The steering wheel might be mounted with audio switches, whereas the advanced instrument cluster displays various notifications. The firm's idea of adding red contrast stitching on its black colored seat covers is quite impressive. Besides these, red accents on its dashboard and gear knob can be noticed. Other aspects that can be expected to have inside the cabin include a spacious glove box with card holder, pockets on door trims, power outlet, assist grips and cup holders as well.
Engine and Performance:
As per reports, a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine might power this variant, which currently does duty in their Bolt and Zest models. But as per rumors, it is fine tuned a bit to produce more power and torque. This is said to come with 4-cylinders, eight valves and might have 1193cc displacement capacity. It may be integrated with a multi point fuel injection system and have a 5-speed manual transmission gear box. The peak power it can generate might be around 120bhp at 5500rpm and may yield torque output of 170Nm that ranging between 2000 to 3500rpm.
Braking and Handling:
One of the sources has stated that it may be incorporated with a tweaked suspension system, but it is not confirmed yet. Meanwhile, it might have the same braking system as in its current model, which comprises of front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. These might be further accompanied by anti lock braking system. On the other hand, it may be offered with a power assisted steering system with tilt adjustment function. This not only supports its minimum turning radius but also ensures good handling in any driving condition.
Comfort Features:
This company has always offered the best of comfort features in all its vehicles. Even this sporty version, is anticipated to have some interesting aspects that can provide maximum convenience. An advanced Harman music system with a touchscreen display can be expected. Along with this, high quality speakers may also be offered. It might also be bestowed with a sunroof as well as power operated windows. At front, sun visors can be seen along with a vanity mirror on co-passenger's side. The driver's seat may have height adjustment facility, which aids in positioning it properly while driving. Meanwhile, the rear seat will most probably get 60:40 split folding function. A few other aspects that might be offered include boot lamp, day and night inside rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel mounted with audio controls, adjustable headrests, voice recognition system and many others.
Safety Features:
This revised variant may be bestowed with several significant aspects that ensure passenger safety. It will probably be offered with advanced anti lock braking system, dual front airbags, corner stability control, high mount stop lamp, child locks on rear doors, defogger as well as central locking system. Other few anticipated features include alarm system, engine immobilizer, speed dependent auto door lock, and seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters at front, which further adds to its safety quotient.
Pros:
1. Its exteriors look more attractive.
2. Sunroof may turn out its big advantage.
Cons:
1. No major changes can be seen to its interiors.
2. Its likely to be more pricey than its present model.
