S-Class 2012-2021 S 500 L Review
Mercedes Benz India, the Indian ancillary of the German auto giant has launched the 2014 version of its luxury saloon, Mercedes Benz S Class. This latest edition is full of extravagance and opulence unlike any other saloon in this segment. By launching the new Mercedes Benz S Class S 500 , the company made it clear that it is leaving no stone in the automobile segment to regain the top slot. Powering this particular saloon is the magnanimous V8, 4.7-litre, twin-turbocharged petrol power plant that can produce an immense power of 459bhp and yields a mammoth 700Nm of torque output. It takes only about 4.8 seconds for the vehicle to cross the 100 Kmph speed barrier, which is remarkable. This latest edition it completely aristocratic and it is blessed with an array of features including an advanced 1560 watt 'Burmester' audio system with 24-speakers along with 250GB of hard disk capacity. Also, this super saloon comes equipped with 6-way massaging seats that will never let the occupants to get tired, while traveling. One of the most interesting aspects about this saloon is that its interiors get LED light setup by replacing the conventional lighting system that brings an astonishing new look to the cabin.
Exteriors :
The all new Mercedes Benz S Class S 500 trim has a body design and structure like none other saloon in this segment. Each and every aspect of its exteriors have been crafted precisely to bring a magnificent look. To begin with the front profile, you can notice the headlight cluster is very attractive with smoked sort of look and it is incorporated with powerful xenon lamps along with LED daytime running lights . This cluster surrounds a large radiator grille that is inherited with classy Mercedes design and it is treated with a lot of chrome. Below this grille, the bumper comes with a unique design with a bit of aggressive and sporty cues that adds a distinct look to its front facade. The company's insignia is placed on top of the flat bonnet that leads the magnificence of this S Class saloon. The side profile of this saloon looks very decent, where its wheel arches come fitted with 5-twin spoke style alloy wheels that adds a sporty look to this four wheeler. The outside mirror caps have been garnished with black and body color finish and it is incorporated with the turn indicator that works as an additional safety function. The window sills surround has been treated with a lot of chrome, while the B-pillar sill gets a gloss black finish. The interior section of this saloon is lavish and will set up a new benchmark in terms of luxury in the automobile segment. This new saloon is equipped with innovative features like a Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system together with the Mercedes-Benz frontbass system, which encloses your heart and soul completely in the music. The company fitted 24-speakers each with a separate amplifier channel that delivers a high-definition sound with optimist sound setting for each seat. The seats fitted inside this saloon comes incorporated with Hot Stone massage function featuring a total of six massage programs that offers a soothing and energizing massage to the occupants. Apart from these, this saloon is also blessed with number of advanced and innovative functions such as parking package, 360 degree camera, LED intelligent light system and number of other sophisticated functions.
Engine and Performance:
The technical aspects of this super saloon explains about its power and performance. The company equipped this launch edition trim with a powerful V8, 4.7-litre petrol engine that has 4663cc displacement capacity . This engine is incorporated with a twin-turbocharger that enables it to produce a peak power output of about 459bhp in between 5250 to 5500rpm that is converted into a mammoth torque output of about 700Nm in between 1800 to 3500rpm . This engine is coupled with a 7G Tronic Plus, 7-speed automatic transmission gearbox that comes with three driving modes including “Economy”, “Sport” and “Manual” option. This vehicle can reach a peak speed of about 250 Kmph and it can break the 100 Kmph speed barrier in just about 4.8 seconds that explains about the efficiency of engine.

This latest edition is fitted with a latest-generation AIRMATIC suspension system that works together with stepless damping control system that ensures superlative drive characteristics and dynamics. Also the company blessed this super saloon with an advanced PARKATRONIC park assist system and a reversing camera that helps in easier parking of the vehicle. Apart from these, there is a COMMAND Online function incorporated inside the cabin that features a navigation system, touch controls for audio system, phone and Internet. Then it has a THERMOTRONIC automatic air conditioning unit with four climate control zones and three air flow settings that allows the driver and passengers to set the temperatures individually.
