Baleno 2015-2022 1.2 Sigma Review

The base version, Maruti Baleno 1.2 Sigma has a limited range of features. It starts with a polished appearance from inside going all the way to its outer body. It is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that generates a decent power, in addition to a moderate fuel economy. Its performance is sustained with the aid of strong disc brakes and a robust chassis arrangement. There are reliable safety functions as well, notable ones among which are dual front airbags, seatbelts with force limiters, a dual horn and reminders for additional safety. Coming to the exterior, the car commands a look of awe that few vehicles of this company have. Sculpted with a uniquely new design language, the vehicle strikes a more modern and progressive appearance. Its aesthetic body shape and low profile impart a more pleasant look. The distinctive look of its front grille adds a stimulating touch to the frontage, while the sweeping body line and stylish rims bring flavor to the sides. The insides of the Baleno have been crafted for a state of elegance as the cabin has elements of comfort that spare hassle for the occupants. A manual air conditioning system keeps the ambiance preserved, while two accessory sockets at the front and rear enable charging of various small gadgets. Find out what other variants of Maruti Baleno offer in terms of comfort and safety features.

Exteriors:

The Baleno has a slender and classy design that gives it a spectacular exterior look. Its glossy metallic skin gives it a renewed appearance, and the company is offering it with a range of color themes such as pearl arctic white and autumn orange. At front, it wears a small grille with a unique, sleek shape. The headlamp cluster is detailed with an intricate quality, enabling the best visibility while driving. Two body swipes are present on the hood, adding to the majestic effect of the front. The body colored bumpers align with the overall look. By the side, this variant has a dazzling blackout effect on all three window pillars. The door handles and outside mirrors are in body color makes for a more harmonious pose. At the tail section, the rear combination lamps come with LED facility for a more solid safety value.

Interiors:

The company has infused the cabin with a modern and authentic theme than other colloquial vehicles. The interior arrangement is strongly supported by ergonomics and artistic design, ensuring that the space is both visually appeasing and convenient. The seats are wrapped in fine fabric, and headrests provide support for passengers of both rows. The steering wheel is mounted with controls for easier drive quality, and the company marque is branded at the center for a more affluent effect. Highlights of metal and other attractive materials are present by the entire front panel.

Engine and Performance:

For this variant, there is a 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine, which gives a displacement of 1197cc. It is integrated through the double overhead camshaft arrangement. Coming to specifications, the engine yields a power of 83bhp at 6000rpm, together with a torque of 115Nm at 4000rpm. The engine is clubbed to a 5-speed manual transmission, enabling better performance and gentle shifting.

Braking and Handling:

In order to balance the performance of this vehicle, the company has granted the car a reliable braking and chassis arrangement. Firstly, a pair of discs secure the front brakes, while drum units are rigged onto the rear. Coming to the chassis section, the front axle is governed by a McPherson strut, while the rear is guarded by a Torsion beam. The electric, rack and pinion type power steering system further helps to augment control.

Comfort Features:

Being the base variant, this Baleno lacks some standard facilities such as a stereo unit. However, the manufacturer has made up for this with stronger comfort and convenience elements within the cabin, giving passengers a far more eased out experience. Firstly, a central locking system brings safety in addition to comfort for the driver and occupants. In addition to this, power windows are present by the front, sparing passengers the hassle of moving within the place. A tilt steering facility further adds to the driver's comfort. Well placed air vents enable a good circulation within the cabin, while adjustable headrests improves convenience for the front seats.

Safety Features:

Firstly, the car is built on a sophisticated Suzuki TECT body format, which helps to reduce hazards in case of any mishap. The anti lock braking system escalates control when driving by preventing wheel locking and skidding. This is further reinforced by the electronic brakeforce distribution system. Strong light systems help to keep the road well lit, and they are further aided by a headlamp leveling function. Seatbelts secure the occupants, and for the front passengers this function is enhanced with the presence of pre-tensioners and belt force limiters. A reminder is also present for the driver's side seatbelt. An anti theft security system affirms the safety of the car, preventing unwanted entry.

Pros:

1. Sleek exterior design.

2. Presence of ABS is a major advantage.

Cons:

1. Being a base variant, it lacks convenience features within.

2. Unavailability of a stereo system is a drawback.

Mileage Booster Car, But Unsafe One.

This car will be perfect for those who are concerned about mileage. Because this car is completely finished in terms of safety. Maruti should also focus on the safety of the car and not just on mileage. If someone is travelling in this car, hardly anyone will remain safe in case of an accident. Over-all, this is an average car.Read More
