Hyundai i10 is one of the best-selling hatchbacks in the Indian automobile market. This is an economical small car that comes in several trim levels with petrol engine as standard along with an LPG fuel kit as option. The Hyundai i10 Sportz 1.1L LPG is the top end variant powered by a 1086cc IRDE2 petrol engine that is further mated with an LPG fuel kit. It produces a mileage in the range of 15.4 to 19.2 Km/Kg, which is fairly decent. The company is offering this variant with several innovative features including alternator management system, which regulates the delivery of power supply to the battery in the event of accelerating and decelerating. This, eventually helps to extend the battery life and reduces the fuel consumption. This top end version is also blessed with advanced features like folding key with keyless entry and burglar alarm, which provides locking and unlocking facility of doors and safeguards the vehicle from unauthorized entry. This vehicle has a compact body structure, but the space inside is quite good, which can host at least five passengers. At present, the manufacturer is offering this vehicle in five body paint options including Pure White, Silky Beige, Stardust, Sleek Silver and Wine Red to select from. At the same time, it comes with a 2-year unlimited kilometers warranty, which can be extended further at an extra cost.
This Hyundai i10 Sportz 1.1L LPG has a compact yet stylish body design, which makes it look eye-catching. To begin with the front profile, it has a large air intake console separated by a body colored strip. The upper grille has been fitted with a chrome plated strip that is engraved with stylish company's badge. While the lower grille has a lot of perforation, which provides better air intake for engine cooling. The front bumper is in body color and is further equipped with dynamic fog lamps. The front facade also has a large wraparound headlight cluster that comes equipped with halogen headlamps and turn blinkers. Its side profile has features like body colored door handles and wing mirrors along with black waistline molding. Its wheel arches are neatly crafted and are equipped with a set of conventional 13-inch steel wheels. These rims are further equipped with full wheel covers and have been covered with a set of high performance tubeless radial tyres of size 155/80 R13. The rear profile has a large windscreen along with a tailgate featuring body colored handle and company's insignia. It is surrounded by a sleek taillight cluster that is equipped with turn indicators, courtesy lights and high intensity brake light . The bumper is in body color that is further fitted with a black colored molding, which offers protection from scratches.
The internal cabin comes with beige and brown color scheme, which is further amplified by Blue illumination. Its cockpit is fitted with i-relax seats featuring single unit back and headrest, which provides perfect resting platform. The rear seats have been integrated with headrests and have 60:40 split folding facility, which helps to improve its boot volume further. These seats have been covered with dual tone fabric upholstery. The cockpit is fitted with a black dashboard, wherein the central console is done with metallic inserts, which accentuates the interiors. It is further fitted with a large storage box, instrument cluster , AC unit and a music system. Its instrument cluster comes with features like digital odometer and trip-meter, low fuel warning lamp, tachometer, gearshift indicator and a digital clock. This hatchback comes with a 35 litre fuel tank (for petrol) along with an additional 35 litre for LPG, which further increases the range of its mileage.
Engine and Performance:
This variant is powered by a 1.1-litre IRDE2 petrol engine that is incorporated with multi-point fuel injection system. It is based on SOHC valve configuration with 4-cylinders and 12-valves that displaces 1086cc . It has the ability to produce a maximum power of 68.05bhp at 5500rpm that results in a commanding torque output of 99.04Nm at just 4500rpm. This vehicle is mated with an advanced 5-speed manual transmission gearbox that allows the front wheels to draw power. It is also linked with an LPG fuel kit that reduces the cost of running without compromise in power and performance. It is capable of producing a mileage in the range of 15.4 to 19.2 Kmpl, which is impressive.
Braking and Handling:
Its front wheels are fitted with a set of ventilated disc brakes, while the rear ones have been equipped with conventional drum brakes, which ensures precise stopping of vehicle. Its front axle is paired with McPherson Strut including an anti roll bar , while the rear axle is fitted with coupled torsion beam. It is also loaded with coil springs, which further augments this mechanism. This hatchback is also incorporated with a motor driven electric power steering that makes handling simpler.
This Hyundai i10 Sportz 1.1L LPG is the top end variant and is equipped with several important comfort features. It comes with a proficient manual air conditioning system featuring a heater that keeps the ambiance pleasant. The list of other features include i-Relax front seats, power steering with tilt adjustment, i-Relax gear console , internally adjustable outside mirrors, all four power windows, driver side window with auto-down and illumination, passenger vanity mirror and remote fuel lid opener. This variant also comes with a 2-DIN music system featuring a Radio, CD/MP3 player that has 4-speakers and supports connectivity for USB and AUX-In devices.
This top end variant is integrated with quite a few safety features, which includes a day and night inside rear view mirror, central door locking (for five doors), front fog lamps and foldable key. In addition to these, this trim has keyless entry with burglar alarm and an advanced engine immobilizer that protects the vehicle from theft or unauthorized entry.

Hyundai i10, which was once rated at two stars (out of five) by the the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (better known as ASEAN NCAP), has now just received a star.
