From April 1, 2020, all new cars registered in India will have to meet the stricter and cleaner Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) emission norms. Currently, there are 15 BS6 cars on sale in India. As of now, BS6 cars are being offered by the following carmakers: Force, Land Rover, Lexus, Maruti Suzuki, Maserati, Rolls-Royce and more. While some models such as Range Rover Sport, Maserati Levante, BMW 3 Series Long Wheelbase and Maserati Quattroporte get BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engines, cars like Rolls-Royce Phantom, Ferrari SF90 Stradale, Ferrari F8 Tributo and Ferrari Roma etc, get only BS6-compliant petrol engines.
