From April 1, 2020, all new cars registered in India will have to meet the stricter and cleaner Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) emission norms. Currently, there are 20 BS6 cars on sale in India. As of now, BS6 cars are being offered by the following carmakers: Land Rover, Honda, Force, Rolls-Royce, Maruti Suzuki, Maserati and more. While some models such as Defender, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Maserati Levante get BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engines, cars like Honda City, Rolls-Royce Phantom, Ferrari Roma and Ferrari SF90 Stradale etc, get only BS6-compliant petrol engines.
