Maruti Suzuki India seem to be gearing up considering the rising competition in the Indian auto industry. Being the top most market shareholder, Maruti has always been under constant pressure to maintain its position. It faces fierce competition from its rivals which are high on eating up Maruti's share from the market. Statiscally speaking, Maruti had acquired an overall market share of 70% which was considerably the peak phase for the company. But, lately the company stands close to 50% of market share. To regain their lost grounds, the company has decided to bring in three new vehicles this year in India.

When it comes to the rival brands, Hyundai has always been the most competitive of the lot. The South Korean auto maker has shown exceptional sales performance thanks to its brilliant designs and advance features. How can we miss out Honda and Ford, which have also made quite a challenging scene for MSI especially in the mid-size sedan segment. In order to combat the soaring competition, Maruti is all set to bring in several new and refreshed products in the next two years. Talking about 2014, there are three products lined up to arrive in the Indian market- Maruti Swift facelift, Maruti Dzire and Ciaz. As far as Maruti's SUV vehicles are concerned, we will soon see a compact SUV based on XA Alpha Concept and SX4 S-Cross by 2015. Lets just restrict to the products arriving this year in the market. The expected launch of all the upcoming vehicles is slated as below

Maruti Swift facelift- Festive season, 2014

Maruti Swift facelift

Maruti Suzuki Swift

Maruti Swift has been the most successful hatchback car in India. Well, the fact with every product is its lifecycle under which the product arrives at its saturation point. So, the company has to bring some changes in that product to revive its sales and continue generating good business. The new Swift facelift is the similar case, and will be arriving with quite a few exterior upgrades. It features new L-shaped LEDs, restyled fog lamps, 16-inch alloy wheels as option and bumper gets a silver lining touch to make it look refreshing. The company will also introduce a new 'boost blue' metallic shade with 2014 Swift, while rest additional features include auto-up touch function for front passenger window, start-stop button, automatic headlamps and electronically adjustable side view mirrors. However, engine options will remain same.

Maruti Swift Dzire facelift

Dzire, an extended version of Swift, will carry forward the same upgrades planned for its hatch sibling. Mechanically, the car will too, not receive any change and will continue with a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and a 1.3-litre multijet diesel engines.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

Well, considering the not-so-happening past journey of Maruti with the mid-sized sedan segment, this time around it seems to pitch itself with a better product. After the failure of SX4 sedan, the company had to face lot of challenges, and it was quite reflected through the declining sales of this car. The all-new Maruti Ciaz was unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo, and had received an amazing response from the viewers . The mid-size sedan segment in particular has not been able to mark substantial growth in the past, but with companies like Honda and Hyundai introducing their respective vehicles in the segment, the popularity of the segment has certainly augmented. Honda City and Hyundai Verna stands tall as the biggest competitors for yet-to-arrive Maruti Ciaz.

Ciaz is bascially a replacement for SX4, and based on 'Suzuki Authentics Concept', the sedan gets a stunning appeal. The front-defining headlamps, attractive and prominent grille and an overall extended appeal, will make it win brownie points when put against the aforementioned competitive car models. As far as engine options are concerned, the new Ciaz may come up with two petrol options- a 1.4-litre K2 and 1.6-litre engine while, the diesel variant may show up with a 1.3-litre DDiS engine.
