Indian automotive industry is definitely not in a good shape, and most automakers are trying everything to sustain in the market. Launching more affordable products has always proven to be the best counter strategy during the slowdown, and same is going to happen in the coming festive months. October- the Festive month is considered to be the best time in India, when most automakers bring their best product. So as is the case with September, it's equally important as the products rolled out in September get a month time for promotion to seize the big month.

So, today we tell you about the cars to be launched in September 2013.

Hyundai Grand i10- September 3, 2013

Hyundai Grand i10

Hyundai Grand i10- The small car segment has always been the most competitive one in the market, so more options bring more success. And that has been the reason why Maruti Suzuki India and Hyundai are top two players; they have the biggest line-up of hatches and entry level cars. So, to seize the maximum sales, Hyundai is all set to launch its most awaited vehicle of the year Grand i10 on September 3rd. And what makes it an even more promising product is its availability in diesel, which is not the case with the existing i10. Since the vehicle will be competing directly against the segment leader Swift, so we are expecting it to be priced around Rs 4-4.5 lakh. The petrol option of the car will carry the similar 1.2-litre Kappa engine, which is doing its duty to the regular i10 and i20, while the 1.1-litre U2 diesel engine will be new to India, which is likely to deliver as good mileage as Swift's 1.3-litre multijet. So, the battle between the Grand i10 and Swift is surely going to be an intresting one.

BMW 1-Series- September 3, 2013

BMW 1 Series

German luxury car giant BMW has officially announced the launch of the much awaited 1-series hatchback in India on September 3rd. To be positioned in the affordable luxury hatchback segment, the 1-series will take on Mercedes-Benz A-Class which has already received huge success in the market. So the entry of the 1-Series will only enhance the competition, thus giving customers more options to choose from. The 1-Series will be launched both in the petrol and diesel engine options, while the diesel version will derive its power from a 2.0-litre motor, capable of churning out 143bhp, the petrol version will have the similar 1.6-litre turbocharged direct injection mill, which does its duty to the Mini Copper and Cooper S. The petrol mill too impresses with its power output figure of 136bhp. Both the engines will come mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission gearbox.

Toyota Innova facelift- September end

Toyota Innova facelift

Japanese auto major Toyota that recently introduced the facelifted Innova in Indonesia will soon roll out the same product in the Indian market as well. And it's most probably going to happen in September itself. The facelifted MPV has gone through some styling tweaks both at the front and rear end, which make it look more refreshed and dynamic than the existing version. While the front fascia of the Innova facelift has received a large chrome grille and a newly designed bumper with chorme surrounds for the fog lamps, the rear too receives a slightly tweaked bumper and chrome enhancement. There will be no mechanical change, so the same 2.0-litre petrol and 2.5-litre diesel engines will continue to power the vehicle.

Nissan Terrano- September end or Early October

Nissan Terrano

Nissan India that has already revealed the Terrano compact SUV in India is now all set to launch the product in the Indian market. However, the company hasn't officially said anything on the exact date on which the product will be rolled out, we are expecting it to happen by September end or early October. In fact Nissan dealers across the country have started taking pre-orders for the car on their own. To be launched at an introductory price of Rs 8.50 lakh, the Terrano Compact SUV will be launched in a total 5 trims namely XE, XL, XL+ XV and XV premium.  There will only be just one petrol variant sporting the same 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder petrol mill, while the diesel version will have two power output version of the same 1.5-litre K9K diesel mill, just like the Duster.
