Tata Motors:JLR sales to be intact despite economic uncertainity

Mr Ralf Speth of the British auto makers Jaguar Land Rover is reported to have said on Thursday, that despite the current economic uncertainty, the Tata Motors India have not suffered any drawbacks in the current period, however, the Tata Motors were able to post more or less flat profits incurred by the company and rather low estimates with marginally higher costs on the board. The increase in the lending rates is one of the causes for the low sales figures in the Asia’s third largest economy. Mr C. Ramakrishna, the Chief Financial Officer of Tata Motors informed that the rising interest rates are definitely a cause of major concern as an explanation aftermath the earnings statement.

The Tata Motors collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover, two of the popular British auto brands, goes back to 2008 when the Tata Motors purchased the these two British brands from Ford, and has been highly successful in introducing four of the Land Rover models in India so far including, Land Rover Discovery 3, Land Rover Freelander 2, Land Rover Range Rover Sport and Land Rover Range Rover. The Jaguar also offers four of its models from their top-of-the-line product portfolios, which are Jaguar XF, Jaguar XJ, Jaguar XK, and Jaguar XKR. This fruitful collaboration has many plans for future including the joint engine development program to further strengthen their relationships, in their manufacturing facilities, both in U.K and India. The joint-engine development program will give the Tata Motors, the desired freedom as, this Indian auto major still purchase their engine from Dearborn automaker. JLR has plans to launch 40 new models in the next five years.
