Pros : Elegant Looks, Super Performance (TSI), Outstanding build quality and all essential Safety Features
Cons : Some cool additions can be offered such as Touch Screen, HID Projectors
I recently bought the New Vento TSI Comfort Line model. I can say this is the best car in C segment. Paid 11.4 Lakh on road price + 1.8 Lakh of addons of my choices.
Look and Style: I like understated design and Vento is perfect. The new facelift makes the car look like Passat from the front view and people turn their head easily than I had expected. I have added 1.8 Lakh worth of extra gizmos including an imported LED DRL + Projector Lamps (Golf R-Line spec), hence the car stands out from the crowd.
Comfort: Vento is a driver's car and the best thing about the car is super stability and handling. Anyways, the comfort is also on a good side, thanks to the Semi-Independent suspension in the rear. A long journey is pretty comfortable. City/bad-road ride is a bit sturdy, though, but there is no room to complain.
Pickup: I own the Turbo Petrol (TSI) variant and that itself make the car top of the segment when it comes to pickup. 0 to 100 is just around 10 seconds thanks to 7 Speed DSG gearbox technology shared from VW's other brands such as Audi. Put it into D mode and you can cruise like a breeze. And if you put it to S mode and push the pedal, the car turns out to be a totally different beast and the RPM goes all the way to redline in each gear. Wow, that turbo kick down feeling is super awesome and you are flying like a jet.
Mileage: Mileage is not the best deal for such a heavy built car. I am getting 11/12 km on the city roads and 16/18 km on Highways per Litre. I haven't tried cruise control, but it may make mileage increase. Also my car is new, with 3000 KM on the clock. Efficiency may improve later (I don't really care much about fuel efficiency, though).
Best Features: The amazing TSI engine with DSG gearbox for that jet like performance and convenience of use. Top class build quality, all essential safety features (My car gets, 2 Air Bags, ABS, Hill Hold and even ESP). There is no cost cutting at all.
Needs to improve: Some features such as HID Projector Head Lamps, LED DRL, Touchscreen System and Sun Roof can be given at least to the top variant, maybe with some extra premium. (I have spent 1.8 Lakhs for these additionals fittings except Sunroof). I am already much satisfied with my dealer (I owned a Polo previously for last 2 years, no issue at all). But it seems like some VW dealers in our country are not offering good service, I read such reviews earlier.
Overall Experience: I am very much satisfied with my choice. A perfect car for the enthusiast driver is inside me. Yeah, also right within my budget. A big fan of Volkswagen now. These days I am finding reasons to drive this wonderful car. Wow! I simply can't resist it.
