Toyota Yaris A Practical Mini Corolla Altis

One of the cars that caught my attention at this year's Auto Expo was Toyota Yaris. It seems the Japanese automaker has upped the ante against the experienced players such as Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in the mid-sized sedan segment. The company is expecting this car to be a volume generator. At first look, with sleek grille and high mounted halogen projector lamps, one can easily get confused between Corolla Altis and Yaris and this would prove to be a major USP of the car. Toyota has added pretty interesting details outside with sporty arched roof and wraparound tail lamps at the rear. Inside too, the car spells charm with dual-tone beige and black dashboard and 7-inch infotainment sans Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support which could be a disappointment for many. However, in terms of safety, Yaris comes fully loaded with 7-airbags, ABS with EBD, hill start assist, and segment-first front parking sensors. As per the information, the car will be initially available in petrol engine option with both manual and automatic transmission. Lack of diesel engine might distract many buyers. Though the car isn't glitzy or wildly exciting, it is more inclined towards practicality that could turn the tables. I am planning to buy a sedan in May-June, hope Yaris will not disappoint me.
