Can Tata Nano Compete with Maruti 800

Most probably within few months after its launch Tata Nano will flood the Indian roads. The main competition of Tata Nano will be with Maruti 800 which is the second cheapest car in India after Tata Nano. The question is that can this car match the performance of Maruti 800 on Indian roads and in heavy city traffic. Maruti 800 has become quite successful because of its good performance and low maintenance.The second question is does to make this car cheaper Tata motors has compromised with its quality safety standards? However Tata Nano is cheapest car in Indian history, it will be snatching the place from maruti 800 which made Maruti Suzuki largest car seller in India. Although the Tata Nano has a less powerful engine of 623cc as compared to 800cc of Maruti 800 but on the other hand price of Nano is quite lower than Maruti 800. I think to compare these cars we have to wait for launch of Nano.
