Do Not Recommend To Buy Sharp Variant
I would like to share my feedback about the MG Hector 2021 CVT Sharp after driving it for 25 days. The car is much comfortable to drive and has good legroom space for all passengers. The ride quality is excellent and I cannot be asking for more. The cabin is pretty quiet and the tyre rolling noise is far too less. Happy with the ride quality. Although this all could be fulfilled by the base variant, one would go for the top variant for additional features, and I was wanting more so I went to buy the top variant (MG Hector 2021 CVT Sharp). Couple of top variant features I am happy with because they function as expected are, the sunroof, TPMS, the music system and the cruise control. However, there are few features that I liked worth spending are a huge disappointment, like the smart app based control, the alert system, the 10inch touch screen center unit, Android Auto, internet inside, tomtom navigation and the auto central lock system. Besides the feature, I also am not happy with the CVT programming for simulated shifts. MG need to get Android Auto certified by Google, and tailor it for MG cars. The Android Auto on this kind of screen is just worse. The screen shows it as if casting from phone by a hack and so looks too small on the 10 inch screen. It is like cheap 10inch screened central unit. Also why does the screen have two buttons reserved one for each type of phone (Apple carplay and Android Auto)? It is just wastage of real estate on the screen. There is no possibility of connecting two devices at a time so one can switch between, instead those could be changed to just one button and launches whichever phone is connected upon tapping that button. The CVT should behave like a CVT which is continuously variable. Why does it behave like AMT shifting gears? This just kills the feel of CVT. And this actually causes the engine RPM to unnecessarily revv up above 2200+ rpm and drop to 1600 with a light foot on the accelerator, which doesn't really give the feeling of shifting except for the engine noise raising and dropping with the RPM. (And probably that is when the car sends false alert saying overspeeding.) I would like to disable the simulated shifts in my car if that is possible to be programmed or get it reprogrammed for optimal shift simulation at the MG service centers.

- MG Hector Is An Atrractive CarMG Hector had many features that were attractive but the 1.5 turbo-petrol engine's 250Nm of torque and six-speed manual transmission made all the difference. All despite the fact that many praised its 10-inch screen, which wasn't that appealing to me.Read More1
- MG HECTOR: The Perfect Family CarIt is a very nice family car. Every seat is very comfortable, the rear seats have plenty of legroom moreover the boot space is huge. It takes the family to any destination very comfortably. The music system is also of top-notch quality. I purchased one of the first MG Hectors in my city when it was just launched in India. And am happy with my decision To summarise. Pros:- Very large boot space, plenty of legroom, good music system ahead in terms of features stylish looks very comfortable stable at high speeds, good service, the phone app connected features also help many times. Cons:- Mileage on a little lesser side Ui of the touchscreen looks laggy, voice command sometimes doesn't work properly and becomes a headache, the car is huge so can't go in many tight Indian streets.Read More3
- Hactor Is Expensive But AffordableThe driving experience is also nice and very easy to manage. It offers a premium luxurious look. The maintenance is somewhat expensive but affordable. It costs roughly Rs. 3000/- for maintenance. The dealership employees offered all the necessary data about the car. They communicate in an appropriate style. The clutch issue is the only drawback, and practically all other amenities, such as the 360-degree camera and panoramic sunroof, are positives. If you want a high-end, luxurious vehicle, you should get this one.Read More
