A very Top of the Line, comfortable SUV with rich features

After a long wait of over one year and trial of many a cars and SUVs available in the market, I finally zeroed in on Mahindra XUV 500 car and bought one in July,2015.While I booked a XUV W8, but ended up buying finally W10 model, which is the highest model at that time and loaded with all the features. To start with, the moment you enter the car, the slogan lights from under the ORVMs welcome you with the logo lights, stating "XUV500" and also the door trim lights guide you.Then the Dash Board panel lights look so dazzling yet soft on the eyes, as if you are in a cockpit of a plane. The lounge lighting in the cabin do the magic in the night!My kids liked the Sun/Moon Roof the best feature in the whole vehicle and utilized it to the hilt while standing out whenever we went for a long drive or on Sea link, Worli. My brother in law lost his spectacles to the high wind blowing when he stuck his neck out from the sun roof! What a moment!The 7-seater is an attraction for a large family or for family re-unions, like whenever my sister visits me with kids and we are all able to go out together, rather than in two cars!The seats are very comfortable and very broad. Leg room is very roomy where the small kids can actually stroll! Even the third row is very roomy and comfortable for long drive. We have driven 2000 KMs in 3 days (from Mumbai to Jodhpur and back) with 6-7 people and nobody complained.The vehicle is very sturdy and easy to control even at high speeds. Its a kids play in an expert's hand and there is no fatigue even after driving for hours together. In fact, you feel like going on driving.The steering controls allow you to handle your music system and phone as well as the vehicle speed ( cruise control) without moving your hands! The cruise control is a very good feature for long drive and removes the foot pedal fatigue! It also allows you to reduce or enhance your speed while in cruise mode and the moment you brake, the vehicle is in manual control again. The only wish you have is the higher fuel efficiency. Though claim of average of 15.10 Kms/liter, I actually never got more than 13.5 KM/Ltr and about 10.5 in the city. Wish, Mahindra could fare better here like Honda or Volkswagon in their diesel cars!One more advice to fellow users - Do install a career on top, if you expect more than 5 people to go out together, as there is hardly any space in the boot after 3rd row. Overall, I am very satisfied with my decision to purchase XUV 500 W10 and very happy to use it day-in and day-out.My family is also happy travelling in it. Now, Huandyi Creta is going to give it a tough time due to price difference but I am sure, if somebody has driven a XUV once, he is going be loyal of it forever. Vinod Kumat
