Whereas the diesel trim is expected to be available at Rs 1 lakh extra. The name of this new sedan by Skoda is said to have been derived from Skoda Laura and Volkswagen Jetta making it ‘Lauretta.
As per initial information about engine specifications of the new Skoda Lauretta, it is expected that it will derive its engine from Volkswagen Vento.

The diesel powered Skoda Lauretta will also be a 1.6L, four cylinder Common Rail Diesel engine. The engine capacity of the Skoda Lauretta diesel is expected to remain at 105bhp at 4400rpm. The engine is expected to produce a maximum torque of 250Nm at 2500rpm.
The new Skoda Lauretta is expected to return a decent mileage of 15 kmpl on petrol and 20kmpl on the diesel motor.
