The renowned Tata Motor Group though specializes in heavy commercial vehicles like buses and trucks, but at the same time, the company is doing wonders in passenger vehicle segment as well for many years now. Its most successful sport utility vehicle model, Tata Sumo Gold is one of the the most admired vehicle prevalent on the Indian roads. The company has recently launched the facelifted Tata Sumo Gold model lineup for the Indian customers. This lineup is being offered with two diesel engine options, one of which is compliant with BS-IV and the other is a BS-III motor. The company is offering this Tata Sumo Gold series in five variants of BS-IV engine and three trims which are equipped with BS-III engine. One of the mid level variant in this model series is the Tata Sumo Gold EX BSIII , which is a widely accepted variant. This trim has 5 doors and the customers can choose from a seating capacity of 7 to 9 passengers as per their requirement. This Tata Sumo Gold EX BSIII trim has one of the most powerful engine that is 3.0-litre TCIC (turbo charged inter cooler) based diesel engine with a displacement capacity of close to 2956cc that produces maximum power of 69bhp at 3000rpm in combination with a pounding maximum torque output of 223Nm at 1600 to 2200rpm. This engine has a manual five speed transmission (G-76-5/4.1with Overdrive) and a forward wheel drive.
