The Indian auto major, Tata Motors have silently introduced another utility vehicle in the car bazaar. It has been christened as Tata Movus and is available in numerous trim levels with seven, eight and nine seater options for the buyers to choose from according to their needs. The Tata Movus LX is the seven seater trim that is equipped with an advanced 2.2-litre VARICOR diesel engine and it is paired with a proficient five speed manual transmission gearbox. This engine can churn out a maximum of 118.35bhp, while generating a peak torque yield of 250Nm, which is quite impressive. The car maker has introduced this utility vehicle with a similar body design, which resembles their other SUV, Sumo Grande, but the body weight is optimized, which helps in improving the performance and fuel efficiency. The automobile company claims that the vehicle can deliver a peak mileage in the range of 15 to 16 kmpl, which is quite good in this segment. This newly launched utility vehicle has a large body structure, which is equipped with numerous striking features that includes stylish body graphics as well, which add to its overall look. This makes it look stylish in comparison to other utility vehicles in its class. The insides of this trim have a comfortable seating arrangement with well cushioned and wide seats that can host at least seven passengers with ease. It also features some utility based features, which include an alternator interior fan, mobile holder and bottle holder, which further adds to the convenience of the passengers. The company is offering an attractive warranty of 3 years or 100000 kilometers on this sports utility vehicle, whichever is earlier. This can be further extended to another 1 year or 50000 kilometers at an additional cost at the local authorized dealership.

Exteriors:

The exteriors of this newly introduced utility vehicle looks pretty decent yet aggressive with its large body structure. The company has introduced this model on the Tata Sumo Grande design platform, but made some tweaks for optimizing its weight. On its front profile, it is blessed with an elegantly crafted headlight cluster that is incorporated with halogen headlamps. In the center, the radiator grille comes in black color, but its horizontal slats and the company logo has been treated with chrome. The front bumper is in black color and is designed with a wide air dam that provides better air intake to the engine. Its side profile is simply decent yet very stylish because of the elegantly designed body graphics, that changes the appeal of the sides. Here, its door handles and the ORVM caps are colored in black, while the pillars are painted in body color. The company has equipped its masculine wheel arches with a set of conventional steel wheels, which are further fitted with stylish wheel covers and covered with radial tubeless tyres. Its rear end has a boxy body structure, but the clear lens taillight cluster further augments its elegance. It surrounds a large tailgate that is accompanied with a wide windscreen, which also features third brake light that adds to its safety aspects. The rear profile also features a black colored bumper accompanied by a foot stepper as well.

Interiors:

Coming to the interiors, this latest trim has a large head and shoulder room, which ensures comfortable seating for all the occupants. To start with, the cockpit section, it is equipped with an elegantly sculptured dashboard and a sleekly designed central console. It is also incorporated with an AC unit including a heater along with few other control switches. The best part about the cabin is its luxurious seating arrangement, wherein the second row is fitted with bench seats, while the third row is equipped with side facing seats. These well cushioned seats have been equipped with ebony black vinyl upholstery that also have fabric inserts in them. Apart from these, the manufacturer has installed several utility aspects including mobile holders, roof lamps, interior fan and a few other functions as well, which will add to the passenger convenience.

Engine and Performance:

This newly launched Tata Movus LX trim is equipped with a performance packed 2.2-litre VARICOR diesel power plant that is integrated with a common rail direct fuel injection system. The most important aspect about this power mill is that it is blessed with a newly developed concentric sleeve cylinder and a self actuating clutch, which minimizes the usage of clutch, while simultaneously improving the durability and fuel efficiency. It has four cylinders and 16-valves that helps in displacing 2179cc and it can produce a maximum power of 118.35bhp at 4000rpm, while yielding 250Nm of peak torque at 1500 to 3000rpm. It is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox that enables the front wheels to derive torque output and produces a peak mileage of approximately 16 Kmpl, which is rather good in this segment.

Braking and Handling:

Its front wheels have been coupled with a set of conventional disc brakes, while the rear wheels have been equipped with drum brakes. This disc and drum braking mechanism works exceptionally well in all conditions and improves the road safety. As far as the suspension is concerned, its front axle is mated with an independent double wishbone type of a mechanism , which is further loaded with coil springs. At the same time, its rear axle is fitted with parabolic leaf spring suspension system, which will further reinforce the stability of this vehicle.

Comfort Features:

This utility vehicle comes with a list of features including power steering with tilt adjuster, a HVAC unit, tip-tap external rear view mirrors, fabric+vinyl seat upholstery, interior fan, sun visor with vanity mirror , adjustable light intensity on instrument panel, illuminated ignition key slot, front roof lamp, digital trip meter and many other such features.

Safety Features:

The company is offering this trim with basic safety features including child lock, motorized headlamps adjustment, driver door ajar warning , high mount stop lamp, anti glare inside rear view mirror, and height adjustable seat belts as well.

Pros:
