The Indian automaker, Tata Motors has officially launched a new utility vehicle in the country's car bazaar. This latest model is christened as Tata Movus and it is made available in numerous trim levels. Among the six trims available, Tata Movus CX 7 Seater Captain is one of the entry level variant and it is equipped with a sophisticated 2.2-litre VARICOR diesel power plant. It can develop 118.35bhp that results in generating 250Nm of peak torque, which is distributed to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. This latest model is all about exceptional performance and great interior space. It has a huge cabin with great leg and shoulder space, which offers a comfortable seating for at least seven passengers. This trim comes with captain seats in its second row, which provides enhanced seating comfort to the occupants. On the other hand, this utility vehicle has a large body, but it comes with optimized weight, which is an added advantage. Interestingly, the company is also offering stylish body graphics, which gives a distinct appeal to the vehicle. At present, the manufacturer is offering this utility vehicle in two body paint options, which are Arctic Silver and Arctic White to choose from. The utility vehicles comes with a company warranty of 3 years of 100000 Kms, whichever is earlier.

Exteriors:

This newly launched trim has a macho body structure that is equipped with elegantly crafted cosmetics. The highlight of its exteriors is its stylishly designed body graphics that enhances the rugged appeal of this vehicle. Its wheel arches have been fitted with a set of conventional steel wheels that are further equipped with full wheel covers. Here, its pillars are in body color, while the door handles and the ORVM caps come in black color. Its front profile is very aggressive with a lot of rugged cosmetics. The headlight cluster has a bold design and is equipped with powerful halogen headlamps along with turn indicators. It surrounds a black radiator grille that comes fitted with chrome inserts on its slats and also on the company's badge. Below this, the black colored bumper is very large and it is designed with a wide air intake console. Coming to the rear end, it comes with a uniquely structured clear lens taillight cluster that amplifies the rear profile. Its rear bumper comes in black color and it is further equipped with reflectors, which provides additional safety. This utility vehicle has a total length of 4421mm along with a decent width of 1780mm and an impressive height of 1940mm. Its wheelbase is calculated at 2550mm and the ground clearance is 180mm, which is generous.

Interiors:

The internal cabin of Tata Movus CX 7 Seater Captain trim is extremely spacious with excellent head and leg room. The seating arrangement is quite good with front facing seats in all three rows. Here, its second row is equipped with captain seats that are also integrated with head and armrest. This motor is incorporated with four cylinders and 16 valves by using a dual overhead camshaft valve configuration, which enables it to develop a commanding power of 118.35bhp at 4000rpm in combination with a maximum torque of 250Nm between just 1500 to 3000rpm. This engine is now incorporated with a newly developed 260 dia 'Concentric Sleeve Cylinder' along with a 'Self Accentuating Clutch', which will enhance the durability of engine, while reducing the efforts of clutch. The company has skilfully coupled this power plant with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox that helps in producing a peak mileage of 16 Kmpl, which is rather impressive.

Braking and Handling:

This Tata Movus CX 7 Seater Captain trim is equipped with a proficient braking mechanism that offers precise braking. Its front wheels have been fitted with ventilated disc brakes, while the rear wheels have been paired with a set of conventional drum brakes, which delivers a good braking performance. The car maker has not compromised on its suspension mechanism as its front axle is equipped with an independent double wishbone type of suspension that is further loaded with coil springs. At the same time, the rear axle is equipped with parabolic leaf spring suspension system. Both the front and rear axles are further equipped with anti-roll bars, which will further enhance the stability of this vehicle.

Comfort Features:

This variant is being offered with a set of significant comfort and utility based features. The company has incorporated an advanced hydraulic rack and pinion based power assisted steering system, which provides excellent response and adds to the convenience of driver. It also has a list of features including heating system, front roof lamp, tip-tap external rear view mirrors, illumination ignition key slot, adjustable light intensity on instrument panel, digital trip meter, magazine pockets in door trims, mobile holder in central console and cable operated remote fuel flap. It also has features like ebony black seat upholstery with fabric and vinyl inserts, mud flaps, alternator interior fan, and a tilt steering column as well.

The company is offering this trim with standard safety aspects including motorized headlamp adjustment, driver door ajar warning indication, an anti glare internal rear view mirror, height adjustable driver seat belt, high mount stop lamp and child safety locks for rear doors.
