Vista Quadrajet VX Review

Tata Motors has always been known as an innovative and futuristic automobile company not only in India but throughout the world. And this time they are upgrading the Vista variant with many new features and tweaks. Tata Vista Quadrajet VX has a very frugal and efficient engine with great power and fuel efficiency. The outer body of the car is very unique, especially the headlamps. This hatchback is very comfortable in inside and also has a lot of shoulder and leg room as long as five passengers sit in it. In terms of comfort and safety the car is very good. It has got the latest and the greatest comfort features that any Indian car has. The infotainment cum entertainment accessories in the car Tata Vista Quadrajet VX are also very good and will make the journey very pleasant. Overall, this is a well rounded hatchback with a decent design and value for money.

Exteriors

Both the exterior body design and features of Tata Vista Quadrajet VX are quite good and live up to its brand name. The headlamps, perhaps the most striking are designed very well and enhances the overall design. The vehicle has an overall length of 3795mm with the overall width of 1695mm and an overall height of 1550mm. The car has a wheelbase of 2470mm and has a decent ground clearance of 165mm. The multi chambered headlights with the front and rear fog lamps are very useful at night. The chrome lining on front bumper and around the fog lamps imparts a decent look to the car. The electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors offer a lot of convenience to the passengers. The bumpers, rub rails and door handles all are body colored and chrome lining on door handles looks more than beautiful. Tata Vista Quadrajet VX comes in 5 different colors each of which is full of life; these are Summer Sparkle, Cavern Grey, Spice Red, Porcelain White and Jet Silver. These colors look very crisp. The stunning chrome detailing on exteriors and the pearl black finish on the rear strip are simply magnificent. There are full cups that goes with the wheels of the car.

Interiors

The interiors of Tata Vista Quadrajet VX are very spacious with a large boot space of 232 litres. The interior color scheme used in the hatchback is dual tone- Ebony Black and Sahara Beige. The seats are very comfortable and are made of good quality fabrics . The storage tray under co-driver seat with visiting card holder, pen holder and coin box in glove box offers a large space for storing things . There is also the facility to increase the luggage space by 60:40 flip and flop rear seat adjustments. The cushioned door pads with fabric insert also provides luxurious feel inside the vehicle. There is height adjustable driver seat and two way adjustable lumbar support on the driver seat for extra comfort.

Engine and Performance

Tata Vista Quadrajet VX comes loaded with the 1.3-litre 16V Common Rail SDE engine which has 4 cylinders and a total of 16 valves that go as 4 per cylinder. The swept volume of the engine is 1248cc with a multi point fuel injection system. The engine is very frugal and its performance is also good. The engine provides a maximum output of 74bhp at the rate of 4000rpm accompanied with the maximum torque of 190Nm in the range of 1750-3000rpm. The transmission of Tata Vista Quadrajet VX is manual with 5 forward + 1 reverse gear. The mileage offered by the engine is 19.1kmpl on the city roads and 22.3kmpl on the highways . The fuel type used is diesel and the fuel tank capacity is of 37 litres. The emission norm compliance of the engine is of bharat stage IV type.

Braking and Handling

The front suspension comprise of independent Mc Pherson strut with lower wishbone spring type suspension system while the rear has a semi independent, twist beam with coil spring. There is power assisted rack and pinion, with collapsible steering column, which provides great ease for driver and comfort for the passnegers. The car comes with vacuum assisted independent dual circuit, diagonal split, hydraulic brake system with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes, which are very responsive .The tubeless radial tyres are of type 175/ 65 R 14 in the Tata Vista Quadrajet VX.

Tata Vista Quadrajet VX is has many great safety and security features installed and equipped. There is an anti lock braking system with EBD, which prevents the danger of skidding on wet and slippery roads. The front ELR seatbelts are accompanied by the rear seat belts. Some other safety features in the car includes central locking, child safety locks, warning systems, high mounted stop lamp . The remote controlled keyless entry with engine immobilizer and centrally mounted fuel tank are some other safety features present in the vehicle. The heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) is very efficient and powerful and works automatically and also has a air quality control. There are front and rear power windows present in the Tata Vista Quadrajet VX. Power outlets are present for both front and rear passengers. Intelligent rear wiper, rear windscreen defogger and remote release levers for fuel lid and tailgate are some others features that are present in the vehicle.
