Aspire 1.2 Ti-VCT Trend Review
Ford Aspire 1.2 Ti-VCT Trend is a petrol engine based version that displaces 1198cc. There are strong braking arrangements, along with a reliable suspension system, enabling stability as well. Coming to the exterior format, it has a graceful overall look. There are rich design elements, including chrome highlights and black appliques to further enhance its image. Its dimensions reflect harmony, with a height of 1525mm, a width of 1695mm and a length of 3995mm. The interiors provide utility as well as comfort. An attractive color combination decorates the space, and fine upholstery covers the seats. There is a good stereo unit as well, along with many features for added satisfaction. The MyFord dock is a facility for storing and mounting external devices, as well as integrating them into the car's system for added entertainment quality. A cluster display presents the driver with a warning for door ajar, maintenance as well as low fuel warning, a water temperature warning light, gear shift indicator and distance to empty reading. The automatic air conditioning system ensures a pleasant drive always.
Exteriors:
Staring with the front facet, there is a grille that has silver painted bars with a chrome surround for a more opulent effect. The headlamp cluster on either side is stylish and has luminous headlamps. A chrome highlight is present on the headlamp bezel, adding a fine touch to it. Fog lamps make for added visibility when driving. The large air intake section at the bottom provides cooling to the engine. The body colored bumper integrates into the overall image well. The side profile has steel wheels, along with the body colored mirrors and door handles. In addition to this, there is a black coating on the B and C pillars. By the rear side, the wide tail lights are further assisted with the presence of fog lamps. The deck-lid comes with a chrome appliqué as well, giving a refined overall image.
Interiors:
The cabin space makes for good looks as well as comfort. There is a two tone color combination of charcoal black and light oak, making for a refined atmosphere for the occupants. The seats are covered in fabric upholstery, and in addition to this, there are fabric inserts on the front door panels. To promote the cabin's distinctive look, there is a premium proteus black interior on the inner door handles, audio bezel and the steering wheel. The instrument cluster and its surrounding arena is cleverly designed, adding visual quality to the space in addition to luxury. There are many convenience oriented functions as well. There include headrests at the front and rear, offering support to the occupants' heads and necks. A central armrest at the rear offers convenient arm placement. Vanity mirrors are present for both front passengers. The front seats also have map pockets behind them, allowing for storing spare things. The Ford MyKey is another notable element, and it gives the driver the benefit of setting speed warnings, activating seatbelt reminders and limiting the vehicle's top speed for added convenience and safety as well.
Engine and Performance:
This variant is run by a 1.2-litre Ti-VCT engine, which runs on petrol. The drive-train has a displacement value of 1196cc. Furthermore, it has a power output 64bhp at 6300rpm, along with a torque of 112Nm at 4000rpm. The mill has a compression ratio of 11:1. It makes for a sound fuel economy as well, with a mileage output of 18.16kmpl. It is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission gear box.
Braking and Handling:
The front wheels gets ventilated discs, while rear ones get drum brakes. As for the suspension arrangement, there is a McPherson strut for the front axle along with a coil spring and an anti roll bar. For the rear axle, there is an semi independent twist beam, and this is also assisted with twin gas and oil filled shock absorbers. An EPAS (electric power assisted steering) steering system is also present for better handling, and this comes along with a pull drift compensation technology.
Comfort Features:
Firstly, there is an audio system that also has FM Radio, a USB port and Aux-In function, which allows for connecting external devices for added convenience. Bluetooth connectivity is another highlight as it allows for musical streaming through enabled devices. Furthermore, passengers can also host calls within the cabin through this advanced feature. For ease of functioning, the controls to the phone and audio systems are present on the steering wheel. There are four speakers in all, with two in the front and two at the rear, giving a quality sound experience. A 2 line MDF screen is also present, adding vision to the entertainment and promoting passenger satisfaction. In addition to this, there are all four power windows with a one touch up and down facility for the driver's side window. The headrests are adjustable for added convenience. A tachometer is present, giving vital drive information to the driver. Tilt steering is also featured in this car, enabling a blend of convenience and safety for the driver. An electric boot release function relieves hassle for the passengers. Further, a battery saver function reduces energy consumption for a more economic drive quality. The outside mirrors are power adjustable, and they host turn indicators for added safety value. The cabin also provides interior grab handles with coat hooks, allowing for convenient storage of clothes within the car. There is a front dome lamp, and a boot lamp as well. A 12V power socket allows charging of devices within the cabin for ease of the occupants.
Safety Features:
There are radiant headlamps that come along with a guide-me-home system, giving added safety. This goes along with fog lamps and a headlamp leveling feature as well. Furthermore, there are indicators for an open door and low fuel, preventing risky scenarios for the passengers. Airbags are present for the front passengers, providing protection in case of mishaps on the road. Automatically central locking is enabled once the vehicles crosses the speed of 20 Kmph. The front windscreen has a pair of 6-speed variable intermittent wipers. An engine immobilizer grants protection to the vehicle as well.
